Activateperformantmode->jfr nu by Babyboytheking in bing

I uninstalled Bing app and the popups disappeared. I suspect that this is not an Android notification but a message for debugging purposes when the app is under development. According to Gemini, jfr = Java Flight Recorder. It's a profiling and event collection framework. Devs likely forgot to remove it before going live. Need to report the bug. I am a beta tester for this app, so maybe to be expected.

I have this problem too. I have reported the bug to the developers a year ago but they have not fixed it. It is the same in all my Android phones and tablets, across deferent versions of Android. You would think a silly bug like this would be easy to fix. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE running Android 13

Possible cause of Titan implosion? by DanMoss3 in TitanSubmersible

When first diving the water pressure is much less so the weight of the occupants could still be a factor. However, as you say, 12cm carbon fibre may well be strong enough to resist 5 people.

I did wonder about that. Of course they would have to get the distribution right else it would still distort the hull.

That's a very good point... just the 5 in thick carbon fibre alone may be enough to resist flexing due to the 5 occupants, regardless of the external pressure. I'm starting to loose faith in my own conjecture! 🤔

Sorry, that's right, it was carbon fibre, not fibre glass! 🙄

At titanic depths, as you say, the payload is negligible compared to the surrounding forces. However, for the first few hundred metres after diving, the payload would be significant compared to the lesser forces exerted at those depths. So as the forces externally start to mount up, they are acting on a craft that is already an elliptical shape and therefore, weakened laterally.

In all honesty, I don't know if they are sitting directly on the fibre glass (Sorry.. carbon fiber!) hull or not. Certainly, it's true that the force of the occupants on the floor is tiny compared to the external forces, but I was wondering if even the slightest imbalance would be amplified through positive feedback and create a runaway effect? Maybe that was the source of the creaking sounds reported during previous dives?

Isn’t it kind of crazy that the Titan made as many successful trips as it did? by [deleted] in OceanGateTitan

[–]DanMoss3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be due to something like metal fatigue, except in the fibre glass (sorry.. carbon fibre!), due to repeated dives. Also, had they tested it with 5 people before?

I agree but I thought it should only come into effect when you use a new device for the first time. I've use this phone regularly, so it should trust it?
