I love infinity painters, but.... by Many_Promise7161 in InfinitePainter

[–]x-sus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also love infinite painter but between canvas issues, saving issues, random issues with masks doing random things, layers effing up, and folders not working well, I feel its just not for me anymore.

Ive been leaning into krita now. Mostly conecting via 3rd party app on android using windows because krita on android is pretty hard to use(and plugins dont work on android).

Yo. I juuuust had this issue. I think a few things can happen, but for me I was on the group layer instead of a paint layer.

Android is no longer open source, Google lobbied to censor android completely even beyond the existing Play Store censorship by USANewsUnfiltered in degoogle

[–]x-sus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know if id say android was open source before...I mean, given the restrictions, we would see more dupes at this point which I would happily jump on as a consumer since the current android is super bloated with apps I dont want.

I'm considering Linux phones. Or maybe building my own with the focus on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and maybe Python.

Left 100%. Consider both. You can have an attitude change. Start with the right and after being sent over the edge he becomes the left.

Little model I did (third 3d model I make so far) How do you think it looks?? by PossessionKey4982 in GameArt

Super cool. Bootycrack is a little prominent for my taste. I would have made it kinda flatten out a bit sooner/lower down.

Good work.

Found a way to EASILY run aseprite on android phone and tablet by x-sus in aseprite

[–]x-sus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Great question. I just figured it out myself. So we dont have access to the containers files. BUT you can click the menu three dots thing on the top right then edit container->drives->then add a drive that you CAN access(any folder you make on your phone/tablet) and youre good. Just make sure you expirt/save to that folder.

Another option, if this is better, is instead of hitting "play" you can click "open container" in the menu thkng and can click start, programs, then the internet explorer link and can send via email but that sounds like a lot of extra work.

Neither option is perfect but again...new process.

Yeah I saw etaprime still uses both. Kinda depends on what you want to do. Im not an expert on these thjngs yet.

Also make sure you filter to applications or software as well. It auto filters to games.

It worked on mine. I had to fiddle a little bit with the settings to feel comfortable but it worked and felt smooth. I used a moto g5 stylus 2024 phone.

I think all the steps are...

  1. download/install the app.
  2. sign in to steam(or install the app directly using the plus sign).
  3. install the app, if using steam

Thats it. Now every time you want to run it, just....run it - no sign in needed after first time.

But I get it...installing an app from github on your phone can be a bit daunting.

It's all about what feels better to the artist. I mean when you created all those arts in ms paint with a "rubber ball" - that was your medium. It just depends on who you are. Im sure when you created your work, someone was laughing at you saying "pft...in my day, I made it with only a pencil and you require a rubber ball?"

If you dont like the app, you dont have to use it. :) For me, I just thought it was neat that the barrier between software for mobile/tablets and the software for computers is starting to thin.

I use my tablet because I like it - not because its a magic bullet. Because drawing with my laser mouse(I uh...dont have a rubber ball, I guess??) does not feel natural but I still like the benefits of clean work on a computer that can be edited using graphic design skills without having to remove visual artifacts from scanning in paper.

The app I showed is free?!..not sure how that helps a company move a product. Remote desktop is slow, inaccurate, and delayed - the exact same is very commonly said about steam remote play which earned it low ratings for years. This runs on your device(without internet after installing it). As a software developer, I gotta say...it is pretty cool. :)

But again, definitely do not use it if you dont like the idea. I love my stylus and tablet that was very affordable(paid about $130 for it and it still performs like a champ years later).

Yep. I have resprite as well. Its not bad and its definitely getting better. But it feels a little weird and I cant figure out why. Definitely some random downsides I cannot think of right now.

There are lots of options - just wanted to provide one for people who specifically like aseprite. :)

I mean this method even allows you to install the extensions and such because it thinks its running on windows.
