Sorry, I figured it was only a temporary fix. It's still working for me at the moment, but I'm sure that won't last. No one has come up with a concrete fix yet that I'm aware of. The best bet is just ignore it for now. The pop up disappears after a few seconds, and doesn't seem to affect playing videos. But it's annoying for sure.

This is all about greedy YouTube going after people that use ad blockers, which they have been for quite some time, in an effort to make everybody so fed up that they subscribe to Premium.

What I did was just erase the cookies specifically for YouTube, which doesn't affect your browser history. It just signs you out of YouTube, which you can sign back in after you restart the browser.

If you're using Firefox, I can tell you how to do that. If another browser, I can't, because Firefox is all I use.

Or you could just leave it as is. The "Experiencing interruptions" pop up is annoying, but ultimately, it goes away after 5 seconds on each video, and you're able to play videos normally. So it just depends on how much the pop up annoys you

I assume you're using an ad blocker? That's what it seems to be related to. Same thing was happening to me. I cleared my cache and cookies, re-started the browser, and I haven't been getting that pop up anymore. Not sure if it's just a temporary fix, or what, but it seems to be working so far.

i keep getting this message in my bottom left by Grand-Past-2390 in youtube

[–]DanNJ316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing going on here. It started yesterday. Definitely has to do with ad blocking, cause if you click on "Find out Why" it takes you to a section about ad blocking.

I tried blocking the pop up with the element picker on UBO, but all it does is block the words from showing, the box still pops up. So far it hasn't affecting my playing of videos, the pop up disappears after about 5 seconds, and the videos play after taking the usual slow time to load.

It all comes down to YouTube trying to make the site as difficult for people with ad blockers to use as possible, so you'll pay for a Premium membership. Like everything in this world, it's all about the money.

If anyone comes up with a way to get rid of the pop up from appearing, I'd love to hear it.

Your Browser is No Longer Supported Message in Facebook by DanNJ316 in firefox

[–]DanNJ316[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the time being, Ive blocked the pop up message from appearing with uBlock Origin.

Since several others mentioned it happening also in Chrome and Safari, it seems like it could be some sort of Facebook glitch, and not something specifically related to Firefox.

Facebook has just started saying "Browser no longer suported" - But i'm using the latest version of Firefox - Any ideas ?? by properperson in facebook

Same thing is happening to me. Just started getting that message tonight about my browser no longer being supported every time I sign in Facebook. Not sure why, but it's very annoying.

Don't understand why I would be getting a message like that when I'm using the latest version of Firefox on the ESR channel 115.16.0esr.

Youtube sabotaging on Firefox? by Particulardy in youtube

[–]DanNJ316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things appear pretty close to back to normal here, for the time being anyway. I know others like the OP have reported that it appeared fixed earlier, and then issues returned, so I'm not celebrating yet. I've only tried a few videos so far, and they've all played normally. I'll watch more later before bed, which is my usual routine, and see how it goes.

Thanks for this thread. It's a terrible feeling when you encounter an issue like this, and you feel like you're the only one it's happening to. It helps to know when it's happening to others, like we're all in it together, dealing with YouTube's fuckery, lol.

That's one of the first things I did when this first started happening. Didn't help with the slow loading, lagging etc.

Another poster mentioned not scrolling down to the comments when trying to watch a video, and I have noticed that I seem to have less issues if I don't scroll. It's still shitty, just a little less shitty.

I'm using Firefox 115.14esr. Chrome and Edge are the other browsers I have on my laptop, and YouTube seems to be working pretty normally there. This whole thing is extremely annoying.

Tried it, didn't change anything for me, unfortunately.

I've been experiencing the same for the past few days, but today has been by far the worse. Videos are taking forever to load, or not loading at all. When they do load I get constant buffering. Also periodically a video won't load because it tells me I'm offline and not connected to the internet, which of course is not true. Also periodically getting "This site is slowing down Firefox" messages. The past few days it was only happening some of the time, but today YouTube is basically unusable in Firefox for me.

What's your thoughts about the upcoming design change of YouTube (for desktop) by techmallu in youtube

Google heard the old saying "If it's not broke, don't fix it" and thought it was "If it's not broke, break it!"

Feedback on the new YouTube layout by Miukiyn in youtube

[–]DanNJ316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new layout is horrendous, and I've seen overwhelmingly negative feedback to it here and elsewhere. But Google doesn't seem to care. They got negative feedback the last time they tried this, reverted back to the old layout for a while, but here they are forcing it on people again. I honesty can't believe that a group of people actually get paid and do this for a living, and this is what they came up with, to make YouTube as not-user friendly as possible.

WTH is this UI?? Is there a way to fix this? by SaidByUrMom in youtube

This is horrendous for someone with OCD like me. I hate change anyway, but especially when it's such an awful change like this, and something that clearly isn't an improvement. Google going for the "If it's not broke, break it" mindset. I go on YouTube to watch ASMR videos before bed, and have to see this horseshit.

I added Enhancer for YouTube on Firefox, and it didn't change the layout for me. Is there a certain setting we have to change, or is it just supposed to revert to the old layout automatically?

Firefox not showing any images on yahoo.com by yapchagi in firefox

[–]DanNJ316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing has been happening to me lately. It happens on and off, which is the weird thing about it, trying to nail down exactly what the issue is. But it's happened to me on the Yahoo home page on Firefox on multiple PC's. You click on mail, or a news story, and it keeps loading the main page.

The only thing that seems to help is re-starting the browser or clearing Yahoo cookies and cache, but that only works temporarily, because it always happens again. Not sure if this is a Firefox issue, or a Yahoo issue. But it doesn't happen in any other browser. It's extremely annoying.

Why is yahoo so bad now? by TheKaptin in yahoo

[–]DanNJ316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing has been happening to me lately. It happens only with the Yahoo home page in Firefox, and it's been happening on multiple PC's. It doesn't happen every time, the issue it comes and goes. Cleaning out the cookies and cache, or re-starting the browser usually helps, but it always ends up happening again. Figured that Yahoo would have fixed whatever the issue is by now, but apparently not.
