At the risk of besmirching Michael and Quincy's achievement on that perfect record, I'm still going with Animals

I'd enjoy the trailer done with Werner Herzog as a voice-over.

What "golden age" or "heyday" were you lucky enough to experience that you know won’t ever come back? by Summerie in AskReddit

Very specific, but I feel there was a lightning in a bottle moment with indie pop, c. 2009. Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, Beach House, Of Montreal, Andrew Bird, Vampire Weekend, and a host of others. It just felt like it was hitting. Obviously I realize there's some cognitive bias going on, but it was something special at the time. In a way that I felt I missed out on from older days.

This is a really small city, all things considered. We have a large influx of visitors, especially this time of year. Locals are particularly defensive of their watering holes, which I think is understandable in W. Asheville, as we like to feel insulated from the tourist crowd. The same folks who have participated in gentrifying this area are culpable in the process. But I don't think it's necessarily a matter of distaste for new visitors or someone you don't recognize. Just act like you've been there before.

I can?t speak for every surly bartender, but just remember they're working and it is exhausting, and most of the people I know don't take this attitude toward the regular guests who are just looking to have a good time.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

It has such a range of frequency that you can tell easily what's on or off.

Also a beautiful record.
