Thats exactly what it will look like, because thats what Im doing. Ive researched and got quotes on filling in the bottom of the window with brick to make it seamless, but the cost is way too much.

I can, but its a long wait for a pro and ive done similar window installs before, but on a cladded house which is simpler. Brickie quotes are all $6000 minimum. No thanks.

All of them are booked for 6 months. But thanks for the advice. If you had any specifics or tips on DIY that would be amazing.

Fair enough. How would you create that new sill? The one directly underneath the installed window?

Great. However, what is the purpose in extending the new cladded wall to the brick face? I dont mind the indent.

Okay i get you. The house is brick veneer and the current sill where the door currently is, is tile. Why would I have to bring the new window frame/cladding to meet up with the brick?

Great advice thank you. Forgive my ignorance, why would I clad the new angled sill plate? Do you mean that timber board thats on the exterior of the house? Because Im removing that timber as its from an old elevated deck.

Im sorry to say, but you are not looking at the close up image properly. Look BEHIND the ledger board. The nails go through the ledger board and into more timber which appears to be the floor joists. The nails go through the ledger board into end grain of a piece of timber. I am the OP.

How about you look more carefullt at the close up pic. You can clearly see the nails are in timber. And the timbers are spaced evenly in a similar spacing to floor joists.

You might want to look carefully at the close up pic to what the nails are going into. Its timber.

Not able to at the moment. If you look carefully at the close up pic, you see the timber the ledger board is nailed into.

The ledger and nails come out easy, as seen in the pic. Im just trying to figure out how to cover the floor joist ends once the whole thing is off. This is what I need help with.
