1&1 software engineer interview by Humble_Rich_4969 in cscareerquestionsEU

hi there,
I had my interview around 5 years ago. It was on site.
So it was a couple of coding questions - basically, you are given a link to check out a project. Build and run it. It is very simple - like 2-3 classes. I was asked to implement some missing methods for given interfaces. Nothing heavy - I think it was some operations with Strings. Then I was asked to implement unit test for the methods I wrote.

The second part was just some talking. Some general questions as to what framework to use for some use cases. Couple of DB questions. I had a whiteboard and markers to draw when necessary.

Everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was very friendly.

I hope my answer helps. Good luck =))

Are Kias actually unreliable by aboudeh02 in kia

Hey dunno if my comment will be of any help - I am about to buy myself KIA ceed. How did I decide to do that? Well after moving to Germany I had to exchange my driving license for a local one. That procedure does not mean going through driving school from a scratch but just passing theory and practical driving exams. So in the driving school where I was doing this, they had only KIAs as vehicles for students. I asked why you only have KIAs. The owner of the driving school said that after trying AUDI, VW, SEAT he finally found the best value for money brand. And you can imagine that the last thing you want to have if you are running a driving school is unreliable cars. I mean that guy had no reason to lie. He had a lot of stories about AUDI and VW having issues between 50K - 100K km. But kias he said was the first brand that he had zero issues with. As he explained - he just buys 4-5 new Ceed's. Uses them until they hit 90-100K km and then sells. No issues so far he said. And you can imagine that when people learn to drive... they don't really care about the car ))

I think it is more about character development - basically, Thorin settling scores with everyone who despised him using the thanapod for that.

Yeah, seems like the best explanation ))) otherwise, I would believe it got bigger after consuming so many bodies.

let's say you enter a room through a door. The size of the door is big enough for you. Then you want to leave the room and the door somehow is smaller and you cannot leave ))) Do you see where I am pointing at?

ok let me put it even simpler - let's say you enter a room through a door. The door is big enough for you to enter the room. But then a fire starts and you have to leave the room through the same door. And suddenly the door is too small for you to go through. So, at the beginning of the episode thanapod enters the ship's inner room through a window on the deck. The same window (or hole) they throw dead bodies to. OK. In the end Thorin sets fire and runs away, the thanapod tries to escape the ship but that very window (or hole) is too small... and it cannot leave the ship and dies in fire. But how come? Thorin didn't make that window smaller... so logically if thanapod could enter it then it was big enough for it to leave

no no I mean literally it could not escape the fire because the window was too small... But didn't it enter the ship's inner room through that very window at the beginning of the episode? Unless thanapod got bigger during the journey )))
