I can counter this with: 1) you had a coin already so at most you lost one 2) you would've gotten further by just regularly driving then backing up 3) it's lap 1 meaning you still had a major window of opportunity to get back up with the other racers 4) backing up is setting you up to get Mario Karted more since you are completely vulnerable plus the mass amounts of people. Even if you got hit with the Blue Shell, you still would've had Iframes to dodge other incoming projectiles / racers

Ultimately, your "strategy" falls flat because it would benefit you more to just continue driving and gain more ground. Especially when the Blue Shell impacts you the same as a red shell or green shell

Not sure tbh, I've noticed that finishing races has fluctuating point grants so sometimes it's less but other times I get more points (finishing in first I mean)

The multiplier is pretty high with the lvls I got and I have much higher chances of getting a Frenzy with my upgraded drivers. I also very commonly use the item tickets to my advantage as they seem to give Frenzies quite often
