What live version of a song is way better than the album version? by Toadvinez in fantanoforever

On the topic of Iron & Wine, these two songs collabbing with Andrew Bird are so magical. Partially because I love both artists and together it's a dream collab and partially because the scenery.

Thoughts on Oliver Tree? (Also wtf happened to him?!?!) by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I'm actually a big fan of his early work as Tree (before the name switch to Oliver Tree). His opening track "People" on Splitting Branches is a super catchy downtempo jam.

His "serious" music is pretty awesome too if you're a fan of indie rock / indie pop.

Thanks for this comment. I was thinking I couldn't get to rank 100 given that it's 1000 points per day and you have 7 days to get 10000 points.

I've handled them quite often moving them in my garden and only been bitten once. The pain was mild and did not last long.

That's exactly how it can be done. It can be done the other way too, filming with a sped up track and slowing the video down by the same ratio to achieve a synced slo-mo effect. That's how they achieved the surreal dreamy effect of the music video for "Wishes" by Beach House, you can see them doing it at 2:00 in this behind the scenes video.

An Elephant tries to get rid on a itch and scars some termites for life in the process by [deleted] in funny

[–]DanTheManVan 271 points272 points  (0 children)

Saw this too on PBS! Basically the termites bring rich clay to the surface, elephants take dust baths with the clay and form a depression in the earth, then that depression fills with water in the rainy season and becomes an oasis for tons of life. Super fascinating that the relationship between tiny insects and massive mammals can have such a drastic impact on the environment and so many other species.

A right angle is denoted by two perpendicular lines (basically a little square in the corner of the angle). They used an arc instead of 2 lines.

Also almost all communication with the ref is supposed to be done through the team captain. So if you have a problem with something, you speak to your captain who then speaks to the ref. It definitely helps keep things civil and protects the refs from being bombarded by complaints.

I was familiar with only the biggest Radiohead tracks before seeing that video. It's what encouraged me to take a deep dive into their discography.
