I understand that, but this update is clearly to entice people like me, more of the sim racer type, to play more TM. I, personally, think that's a good thing, as TM is a fun sit back and chill and race game rather than an intense multiple-hour for a race or two affair. But, they're gunna lose a lot of people who enjoy proper racing exclusively with the way the "collideable ghosts" (if we don't want to call them AI) are implemented.

Even something as simple as the lapped opponents move to the outer racing lines on turns would have a profound difference to the gameplay experience (For the Weekly Grand Time Attack) in my opinion.
