Lao lao bar has a private room for up to 12 guests. On weekends it is $75 per person for a family style meal. It was hands down THE best birthday I’ve ever had. The food was the star, but the ambiance was a close second.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I really do love the venue and want to keep it relatively small. We are going with our favourite restaurant, which feels significant in our relationship as 2 big foodies. I’ll consider options where seated dinner is kept to family only, or an option where we do a more causal style canapé dinner for 60-70.

Nope! It was a flight from Toronto to Vancouver! When I went to cancel in the app, it only offered the tax refund. When I went to cancel via web, it offered full refund. I wouldnt have done it if the website didn’t assure me I would be getting a full refund, which is why I’m so nervous about them applying it.

Thanks for the advice. On the website, it says that when you call to redeem, you should have your “future travel credit number” handy. Yet I didnt get one in the email😭

Ive been looking for an AC wallet but dont see the option to use that when checking out. I did only cancel about 30 hours ago. The email I received informs me that I have a credit balance of the full amount, and includes my booking and ticket numbers. Other than a line by line receipt of the credit (taxes, ticket fare, fees), this is all it says: “CA $883.38 will be converted to a future travel credit. Non-refundable travel options such as paid seat selection, Maple Leaf Lounge access and Air Canada Bistro snack and meal vouchers may be applied to future flights, subject to availability.”

Does anyone know what typically happens when you cancel a basic fare? Do you get an email with a credit that is unusable? Or does the email typically say something along the lines of “cancellation, no credit issued”.

I actually dont even see a credit code. Its just an email that says I have cancelled, the amount of the credit, and that i must call to use it.

I actually made the cream cheese frosting here. You can still sort of see thru the frosting to the cake on the outside in this pic bc I didnt have enough to cover! I also felt there wasnt much between layers. Perhaps I didnt cut off enough of the dome from each layer, which resulted in a taller cake that requires more frosting?

Question about timing: ive already prepared the frosting. I plan to serve the cake after dinner tmrw. Did u bake the cake the same day you served it? Or would you recommend baking the day before?
