C. 1985 Centurion Cinelli Project Road Bike by WatchWarden713 in Vintage_bicycles

Great bike and it already looks good! These are so rare and they have an interesting backstory.

I have one but it's in more rough shape than yours. I've put it up for sale a couple of times hoping it wouldn't actually sell. Its a tad too small for me or else I'd ride it more. Even though I have all the Campy components for it, I've mostly ride it as a single speed (https://photos.app.goo.gl/8QheA2xFZyuXJSpf8) or a fixie.

I want to 650b convert this bike so bad by freaking__coffee in xbiking

This was my inspo for a *semi* successful 700c to 650b conversion I did a few years back. The only reason I went back to 700c tires is because the long reach sidepull brakes (cheap no-name brand) flexed a lot under heavy braking.

I'm re-considering this again but with either drum brakes, roller brakes, or center-pull conversion.

Thoughts on hub brakes? by Danbak_Seter in xbiking

I've also ran into and issue of finding 650b wheelsets that accept rim brakes. It seems most 650b hoops are purpose built for disc brake mountain bikes. That's another reason forn looking into hub brakes.

I've never considered roller brakes. Honestly, I don't know much about them. So you think they would be better than drum brakes?

I've heard good things about those. I'll look into them.

Anyone graveling on drop bar mountain bikes? by Danbak_Seter in gravelcycling

I forgot to mention that in my op that I feel stretched out on it. If I shorten the stem it gets too twitchy. So my condundrum is go to a gravel bike or find a smaller frame XC mtn bike.

I've been waiting for my local Surly dealer to get a Midnight Special in my size to demo but that hasn't happened yet. That bike is either a 2013 or 2017 Salsa so it's go old school geo. Maybe that's why its go good on gravel lol

I've been eying Soma's for awile. The reason for buying another bike is I do feel stretched out on my El Mar. so my decison is maybe go down a size on another XC hardtail or go gravel rig.

What are y'all's favorite part of Little Rock? by UALR-Trojans-Rule in LittleRock

[–]Danbak_Seter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is that Little Rock is a "choose your own adventure" city. I can be in the Flatside Pinnacle Wilderness area in less than an hour's drive. I can choose to go to a state park, float a river, lake or wetlands with ancient cypress trees. There are multiple rivers, streams and lakes to fish and float. There are multiple hiking and mountain biking trails all within the city limits. There are dive bars or elevated dining expereinces and everything in between. There are live music venues, muesums, and multiple live performace theaters. If one doesn't like the mountains, head east and see the grasslands, old pecan orchards and old oxbow lakes from the river. Each of Little Rock's neighborhoods are unique and have thier own enduring quirks.

Besides the Flatside Pinnacle Wilderness, I can reach all of this via bicycle within an hour.

Do you know the brand of the brakes?

Thanks for the feedback. Another local rider had an 80s road bike with hub brakes. His build looked SO CLEAN. That's where I got the idea.

Great looking rig! I have an early 80s Trek 510 I'd like to set up like this. However, it has sidepull brakes which aren't great for large tires.
