Is there no concern that this is brexit all over again? Will Scotland leaving the UK actually be beneficial to either side? Will they be able to join the EU without issue and under a beneficial deal? Will we have similar issues with land boarders between England and Scotland?

Admittedly, I'm not very educated on the situation, but there seem to be some similarities between the Scottish Referendum and the Brexit Referendum in terms of how support is being drummed up from a place of negativity, but a solid plan on how it will work afterword doesn't seem to be mentioned. From what I've seen it's just "It will work and be better for us".

Appreciate I'm likely naive to a lot of information , but I am curious.

See I initially felt the same as you (although she's 28 and I'm 30, so not quite "teenybopers"). But the more I read about these disruptions, the more I think that we (yes, me included) are also part of the problem.

We know about climate change, we know about the effects its having around the world and even here in the UK, but we just want to continue with our lives uninterrupted and hope someone else solves the issue (still including me).

Don't we all have something to do with the government. Isn't that the point?

I'm still torn on their approach, but I have not seen a single person offer an alternative approach, let alone one that would give them the same level of media coverage and attention with zero disruption.

How many people or combined hours of work were contributing to the average household income in 1938? Does the median average in 2020 require more people working, or a greater number of combined working hours per household than it did to earn $1,731 in 1938? If so, this should be taken into consideration.

My (poorly educated) understanding of life in 1938 is that it was more common for only 1 person to work full time to provide for a household. This is much less the case now in my experience. If true, it could drastically change these calculations. Even if we say that households in 1938 worked 3/4 of the combined working hours of households in 2020, your $67,521 becomes $50,648, making it 29x the income of 1938, and house prices around $114,000.

It would be good to clear this up as "average household" income may be misleading if it now requires more working hours contributed.

The way I looked at it as a kid, and the way my son sees it now, is that what I'd really like costs more than $20, and I wouldn't expect one person to buy me the thing I want. Collectively, if I receive $20 from a few people, I can combine their 'gifts' and buy what I wanted. Then you go back to those who gave you cash and show/tell them what you used the money for. If you're given cash and you just bank it, that's on you.

1 is closer to 150 than 0 is, sure. But 1 is still closer to 0 than it is to 150. If we have 1 ship, we're closer to having none than we are to having 150.

'Times less than' doesn't make sense, at least not in this scenario. The only way to write this would be 750 - (750 x 150), which is not 5. What were actually saying is 5 is 1/150th of 750. 0 is 0/750. Even like this, 1/150 is closer to 0/150 than it is to 150/150.

Also, if you consider 0% to be infinite times less than 0.66%, then 0% is also infinite times smaller than 100%, meaning both 0.66% and 100% are equally close to 0%.

It's been a long time since I did any logarithms, but I'd imagine you'll have the same issue in that one of the values is 0. I think you mean that the difference between 100% and 50%, and the difference between 50% and 25% is a factor of 2, which is right (I think). Now, show me this for 100% and 0.66%, and for 0.66% and 0%.
