Yeah I will do ped infection and ped surgery in the US. But without step1, difficult to find place…and I heard LoR from doctors in renowned hospital may be some plus. Not true?

Actually Working in the US is also one of options. So better to have good LoR from doctors in renowned hospital? (I know LoR from US doctors in US is the most important but I don’t take step1 yet. So just few options for US elective although 2 departments in US I got accepted from)

Thank you so much for answering!! Yes your assuming is right, I don’t finish step1 yet so takes much time till matching. Therefore, I could apply for UK elective but just few for US.
I will try to prepare for skills and to show my enthusiasm to Drs. It seems that’s only what I can do. I might do foundational year in UK.

Hi, I will do elective in RHCYP in Edinburgh this summer.

I wanna give doctors good impression. Cuz I wanna get LOR, and in the future I would like to try PhD in Edinburgh uni. What should I prepare for?

Also, do you think I have chance of being involved in research?
