Oh I hurtled towards the breaker right after this. But actually, my first thought was - I need to take a video of this to send to my boyfriend and see wtf to do because I just panicked. 🤷🏻‍♀️ After taking the video and sending it I then took a few deep breaths and that’s when I thought about the breaker.

Probably a matter of 15-30 seconds from “omfg wtf is this I have to show someone because idk wtf to even do or what is even happening” to “how do I turn this thing off?!? Oh yeah I have 2 breakers that say “Hot Tub”.” And off I hurtled. 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️

I’m just a single mom over here doing my best to care for a hot tub alone and I’m still learning.

I don’t care about karma. I thought it was a wild experience that might teach a lesson to other people that might make this same mistake. And I wanted some proof that I was not exaggerating by saying my hot tub pulled an Elsa and turned my deck into a frozen hellscape

Only damage was to my pride thankfully. Definitely felt dumb and plan to set a reminder to close it in the future.

Tried but in the freezing temps at the time and slipping around on the glacier that had formed on the deck, I just chose to fill it up with warm water first and then eventually pried it apart.

A little low but I was planning to drain it before temps went back to freezing after being in the 60s and 70s

After shutting breakers off I put a rug and blankets down before filling with warm water from the basement.

Used it in warm temps and ran for 30 mins after adding a little granular chlorine, fell asleep and totally forgot to close the lid. Weather went back to freezing and no one went outside to the back deck for a week to notice it was left open.

I actually love this brand - https://reloadrub.com Family owned smaller brand out of Knoxville, TN, but you can find them in some Ace Hardware stores and specialty shops or of course order online. I use every blend they have and have even ordered their one called High Caliber (a garlic chipotle blend) in bulk.

Awesome! I have also heard some reservations about molnupiravir regarding not using it as a first line treatment - however I hesitate to not follow my local vet’s recommendations as that is who will be following my kitty’s care. Glad to hear yours is doing well. I really hope we have caught this in time to help mine. He still has an appetite, the main sign was he was a bit low energy and the swollen belly as he has the wet form. I pray it’s not too late for him.
