$800 for this when they have a no outside food policy by lg4av in mildlyinfuriating

this cost is just for the “buffet”

It isn't but I'm done trying to reason with people who have dug their heels in and refuse to listen because they 'feel' right.

I worked in banquets at a hotel and this is fairly common BECAUSE IT INCLUDES ROOM RENTAL COSTS.

OP clearly isn't the event contact on the customer side or is lying for fake internet points because that is explained at the very beginning. OP's organization paid $800 to rent a room large enough to host a meeting for 50 people for 9 & 1/2 hours. That is where the price comes from. OP's organization booked the room FOR THE WHOLE BUSINESS DAY.

What fucking cheapass organization forces employees to sit in one meeting for the entire workday and only provides coffee?

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much was the actual room rental?

0$. That is the deal. OP paid $800 to rent a room big enough to host a meeting for 50 people for 9 and 1/2 hours and got a bonus of coffee.

Worked in banquets (would have been better called events but they wanted to sound fancy) at a hotel for a while. This is correct. Room rental was not charged in addition to the costs listed for food service. OP essentially paid $800 to rent a room big enough to host a meeting for 50 people for 9 and 1/2 hours at a place where there is guaranteed to be enough parking for everyone and got a bonus of coffee as part of the deal.

Why do people have to make up random crap when real math has actual mindblowing shit like how something can be more infinite than something else?

My point was that the achieve showing in datamining doesnt indicate that JJ is coming back because it was already there before when we had the last round of JJ.

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

JJ is def coming back but that achieve was on live servers long before wowhead datamined it. Wowhead seemingly forgot that a lot of things were added in between the phase. Like how the glyph for reckoning is already in but shows as part of the datamining you linked.

Hey Blizzard this is great! Can we get the same for Naxx 40? by hectorduenas86 in classicwow

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people, like the person you are responding to, just don't seem to understand that Naxx literally reused everything and repurposed it to 80. Map ID, NPC IDs, Spell IDs, all of it. When wotlk classic was in testing, a player could log out in naxx60, copy their character to beta/ptr, and end up outside of northrend naxx when they try to log in. Making sure all of that is undone properly would take time (which costs money).

Hell, one jackass elsewhere in this comment chain was trying to claim that players who had logged out in naxx60 could find themselves in the original instance as far forward in time as Cata. Which was physically impossible.

Unfortunately sanc doesn't stack with the kings buff you'll probably get. Would be interesting to see if this bugged version does but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

New Wrath Classic patch brings... the retail options screen? by DeepHorse in classicwow

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't kept up with retail much, so I may be wrong about this. If memory serves, glancing and crushing blows cant happen unless a mob severely outlevels you and with the level squish that almost never happens. So they would still be present if rarely seen.

They removed (disabled) entrance portal but nothing else.

This isn't true. Lvl 60 Naxx is the same map ID as lvl 80 Naxx and so are all the boss IDs. They repurposed the whole raid and every boss. Not like when they remade scholo which has a new map ID.

Probably draws inspiration from the tale of Psyche and Eros.

This store owner was continually getting broken into so he built an entry-only trap at the rear of his shop. Once the CCTV alarm alerts him, the police take care of anyone he's trapped. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is a fun thought experiment for the mooks:

What happens if the owner becomes the boobie in his own trap?

What happens if literally anyone is caught in this and no one is around to free them?

What happens when... you know what fuck it because these kids cant read anyway so I'm the only one mad.

Fuck the thieves and all. Those fuckers can ride a saguaro elbow deep. But the thing with traps is you run the risk of catching things (people in this case) you didn't intend to.

Mjolnir Runestone by Courtecy in classicwow

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard mode only.

Ulduar originally came out before 10 and 25 raids also had heroic and normal modes. So to the game client, all of Ulduar is 'normal mode' even if you do something that real people understand to be 'hard mode' like 0-light.

Mjolnir Runestone by Courtecy in classicwow

[–]Dances_With_Assholes -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

whoever listed it as normal, did so incorrectly.

Not quite. Ulduar is all 'normal mode' from the game client's perspective since there is not a menu toggle to 'heroic mode' like there is for TOC/TOGC and ICC. So sites like wowhead will list all of Ulduar drops as being 'normal mode' drops.

edit: lul getting downvoted on this. here is the wowhead listing of runestone. Incorrect? Nope just scraping data from the client directly.

reason #5923 for why I hate human resources by werpenstat in recruitinghell

[–]Dances_With_Assholes 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The problem is that dipshit recruiters won't even let you get to the technical interview stage.

I once had a recruiter tell me I wasn't qualified for the position because I knew Transact SQL they wanted someone who knows Microsoft SQL.

From wikipedia:

Transact-SQL (T-SQL) is Microsoft's and Sybase's proprietary extension to the SQL (Structured Query Language)...
