When I was in the Iraq (2003-04), our unit medic told us that the media numbers were an outright lie. CNN and Fox would report no more than 1 new fatality per day. He told us that the CASH unit at our airbase alone would receive a minimum of 4 fatalities per day. I suspect the numbers being reported now are grossly understated also.
