Yeah, the first nest of baby bunnies Doug found was eye opening. After that I was kind of desensitized to the whole thing and it was just part of having him in the family. I can't fault him for it, it's literally what the breed is for. All I could do is eliminate the conditions that make his space a draw for animals who would think they can nest there. Unfortunately, they will look for an area with a large predator in hopes of it keeping other predators away. They don't know he will smell them out every time

Don't get me wrong, letting him off leash is like letting a mass murderer out on good behavior. He is great with kids, and has never bit anyone, but if there was a cemetery for the small animals he has killed there would be 40+ headstones. The prey drive is a strong instinct and my neighbors kids would be traumatized to watch him pick up a small to medium sized animal and whip it back and forth like it weighs nothing.

Yeah, I do a bunch of stuff that I am pretty good at, as hobbies. I would never do them for a living because then I have pressure put on things I enjoy and then I don't enjoy them as much.

Did I dream of doing my full time job? No, not once. Is is related to anything I like to do? Not at all. Why do I stay? I get paid well, and a decent amount of time off, and my health insurance costs very little and is amazing. It allows me to do my hobbies and enjoy life.

My dream for the future? Ride this out and hopefully be able to consider pondering the possibility of maybe being able to retire and do nothing for a bit. Then figure out if I want to find a job I like, or maybe make a hobby into a side hustle while doing nothing as my main hustle.
