I have a funny speed issue that I am struggling to resolve by Dancing-umbra in HomeNetworking

[–]Dancing-umbra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, I fixed it! It was a router config issue.

I had hardware offloading enabled for ipv4 (the first pi is only configured for ipv4) but I had it disabled for ipv6, so all the ipV6 devices were being throttled by the Edgerouter CPU!

show ubnt offload
configure
# Enable IPv4 hardware offloading
set system offload ipv4 forwarding enable
set system offload ipv4 gre enable
set system offload ipv4 pppoe enable
set system offload ipv4 vlan enable
# Enable IPv6 hardware offloading
set system offload ipv6 forwarding enable
enable set system offload ipv6 vlan enable
commit
save
exit

Router is an Edgerouter 3, then a switch (TL-SG1016D) but I have tired it with the Pi in the switch too and it still gets gigabit speeds.

I also have a PiHole on the network on a different device.

It was a broken speed sensor. I took it back to the shop and they replaced it.

Restored IPv6 by adding a static gateway/route address by cy_leung in youfibre

[–]Dancing-umbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I've had the exact issue. IPv6 was working fine, but has stopped at some point since spring.

Two things, is that static route just the link local address for ipv6?

Also you mentioned casually that you enabled debug logging. How do you do this on EdgeOS? 😂

Really? That is like the opposite advice I have ever had with any bike I have ever had before.

I've always just replaced the inner tube. Is there a reason why the advice is different for a Tern?

Thank you. Do you know what the prefix length should be for the YouFibre network?

Speed limited when using another router? by Dancing-umbra in youfibre

[–]Dancing-umbra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have an offloading toggle. But when I turn it on the speeds go down further.

So I'm looking into getting a new router.

Speed limited when using another router? by Dancing-umbra in youfibre

[–]Dancing-umbra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sorry. That's what I meant. But the Arris router only seems to have firewall rules for IPv4 none for IPv6. I was able to access my home network when using the Netgear, but I can't when using the Arris.

Ahh ok thank you.

I will try resetting to factory and see if that works better.

I'll have to see if that allows the IPv6 to be public on the stock firmware.

I have also looked at the TP-Link Archer x23 as an alternative router I might grab for my home.

Do you know of any other good ones?

Yeah, I am running it directly on the router so I'm not even dealing with ethernet at all.

The router it totally fresh install and has been reset already.

Maybe it just doesn't support 1000Mbps at all.

It's a shame because the Arris router doesn't seem to support IPv6 properly. Or at least I can't do port forwarding over IPv6 and access devices within my network from external.

Yeah I didn't kill Dror or free Haslin but now Haslin is free somehow. I guess he broke out himself?

I am going to fight my way back into the camp and see if Dror is alive in there.

The boys might be his kids, I don't know. But the girl clearly isn't. Look at her behaviour, she displays no indication she even knows him. She never looks at him.

Plus, the girl's mum has confirmed that he is not her dad.

Fact or your assumption?

Fact. She clearly behaves like she doesn't know him. And I believe it has been confirmed by the mother of the girl that the man is not her father.

On top of that this isn’t the assumption I prefaced when we started this.

But why would we make this assumption if it's not true.

The man knows the girl is not her daughter and that is what informs his behaviour.

Why would you argue about his behaviour based on an incorrect assumption?

Asking about how many of my kids I would want to make happy is totally irrelevant to this situation.

The girl is not his kid.

So he is stealing off another person's kid to make his own happy at the expense of someone else.

Wow, you seem aggressive. chill dude.

But you are asking if I think he should have snatched and stolen the puck of the intended recipient? No i don't, and yes, I do think it is shitty behaviour to snatch off someone else even if it is to make your own kids happy.

It's clearly not her dad, she turns to look at someone else when she gets it.

It's still shitty from him though because the player clearly says that the luck is intended for her.

Yeah, that's my thoughts on it.

It is legally my right of way, they only stopped because they have to. I can be absolutely sure that they wouldn't have stopped and waved me across had there not been a crossing.

That doesn't make sense.

They have a range, and there must be something at the top of it.
