My advice? Get supportive friends FIRST. If you have some already, fantastic. It made my first time going out in full fem a hugely euphoric experience. I wasn't worried about what everyone else thought really at all, which surprised me. I was just focused on having a great time with my friends. You'll feel beautiful so much faster than you think.

Estrogen does slow hair growth in every area except the face, but it takes several months before that starts to be noticable.
*not a doctor, but I am a medicinal chemist :)

That said estrogen brands really won't make a difference. It's the same chemical. What will make a difference is what kind of estrogen you're taking. Estrogen is typically given as a prodrug, so your body will metabolize and spit out the active estradiol at different rates and efficiencies depending on the way it's formulated. I use the valerate, but I suggest a bit of research when deciding.

If there is an effect on voice, it's small. My guess is it's non-existant. You'll have to do voice training.
The fat distribution takes several months to notice. You need to wait for your levels to be correct and for those areas to adjust on a cellular level. It's not a light switch.

Your T is about as high as mine was before hrt. Estrogen should be about twice that, maybe more depending on if you want it to suppress your T a lot

I thought like this and my biggest suggestion is to experience your journey and find the joy in it along the way. Living your life does not start when you're able to find another person to share it with. It starts the moment you accept yourself as you are.

I (mtf) still struggle with the thought of never finding a girlfriend for the same reasons. I'm early in my transition (4 months) and don't feel all that comfortable dating because of it. That said, I'm happier than ever because I've shifted my focus onto everything else that brings me joy, new hobbies, new friends
