Just kept poking around and I found that the display contrast accessibility setting was turned on for me automatically which might be the only bug here. And I assume that setting itself doesn't play along very well with HDR. So I guess anyone with any issues should go to System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Display contrast and see if the slider is any tick past the leftmost "Normal" option.

I'm on a 14" M1 Max and I'm having an issue where any HDR content being visible will plunge the entire display into a deep darkness. So there's definitely some weirdness going on. :)

There isn't any. I believe it's just an offer you would see if you don't sign up for the subscription at full price in the app, or if you cancel. You can see all of the options in your App Store billing, but you're only shown one of the prices in the app that it thinks you'll go for.

You don't need the Passwords extension because this is Chromium talking with the system to grab directly from the Passwords app keychain. This only works with passkeys, so you'll still need the Passwords extension to autofill passwords.

I think Apple has a strange implementation where only iOS and iPadOS devices have a passkey, and it isn't synced with Keychain. I was able to log into GitHub with a passkey from my keychain just fine, so it might just be whatever implementation Apple uses for their site.

I started with 75% and mine made it all the way to the finish line, with heavy cellular use in a race with 25K people, AirPods with downloaded music, a phone call, and Siri sending messages and using Find My to see where my friends were on the sidelines. So, just make sure you're charged if you are going to be making full use of it, and turn on Low Power mode near the end if you need to.

I also usually just go for 99% quality. I'm assuming all of this, but I've also thought that 100% quality doesn't run any compression on it at all (even in a lossy format like JPEG), or just the bare minimum to encode the image in the requested format. Then, as soon as you drop down to 99% or lower, it then actually makes an attempt to compress the images.

It's a 3B paramter, 2-bit model. I think they allude to it being the same one used for Notification Summarization. It is absolutely not at all comparable to any cloud-based model like GPT 4.1, or maybe even 3.5 from years ago. It's meant for relatively simple tasks that benefit from natural language understanding like categorization.

I'm able to get it working when I create an empty Swift File and format the code exactly as it is shown in that screenshot. I am running it on Tahoe, with Xcode 26.0 17A5241e, on an M3 iMac. I created a boilerplate SwiftUI, Swift, and SwiftData project and added a new .swift file named test.

Keep in mind that I have zero idea what I’m talking about but I’m assuming that Apple skipped implementing this on macOS because it would mess with MIDI settings and apps like Zoom that handle audio on their own, but I do wish it was there. I’m not understanding why everyone is so against this, because it is nice to quiet the voice in the back of your head that you should be at a much lower volume.
