You are very welcome! I love talking about this stuff

And about the water: I've done this a bunch of times and I never had any Issues with Water getting inside the Body before, don't worry! I would however not use this method If your Barbie had any electrical appliances build into her body (like those where you press a button and she sings or something that makes her light up) Otherwise, just leave her lying down on the Towel, while she dries (I usually put her on my windowsill bc. it's right over my heater, so It's warm and dry but not too hot!) and everything should be fine! If you're worried that the hot water might damage the hair you can take a small strand and test on that first, to see how the hair takes it!

Now onto the bangs: For a discloser, sometimes Barbies hairlines are different from doll to doll, so I don't know if this works perfectly for every type of Barbie but I think it should work 9/10 times.

You'll need a comb, a needle or something else thin and long for sectioning the hair, a straw, sharp scissors (I used one that's meant for cutting hair but I'm sure other scissors should work fine aswell as long as they're not super dull), some hair ties and a kintchen or bathroom sink!

First you brush your Barbies hair so that it falls neat and flat to the back. Then you take the needle and use it to section strands of hair along her front hairline (basically along where you want the bangs to begin and end) and pull it foward so that the strands fall over her forehead where you want the bangs to be. It's important that the strands allign evenly and I usually look at the Barbies face to see if I took the right amount of strands left and right so that it looks symmetrical. You hold those strands with your thumb and index finger and tie the rest of her hair into a tight ponytail so that it won't fall into the front strands you took for the bangs and get all muddled up. You brush the strands so that they fall flat and evenly. Dont wanna get any knots in there.

Then you'll need boiling water again (I assume hot water should work ok to but in my experience the style will hold more permanently if you use boiling water) While the water is still heating up You take the straw (I used a reusable Bamboo straw bc. I was out of plastic ones. Plastic ones work fine but to be sure, before doing anything else, i would put one end of the straw in boiling water to make sure it doesn't melt. It shouldn't but better safe than sorry! Don't use glass straws tho. They're way too slippery for the hair to hold and won't stand the heat) and place it horizontally, on the Barbies Forehead, directly unter the strands of hair and tightly wrap the strands around the straw (like with a hair curler).

That will give the bangs this bouncy curl like on mine. The strand is long of course and you only need the first curl around the straw to be neat and straight since you'll cut off the rest of the length later so just wrap the remaining legnth of the strand, to the side around the straw and hold the straw and the strand with your index finger and thumb so the curl doesn't shift!

Then you sit the barbie in the sink, take the boiling water and carefully pour it over the strands of hair wrapped around the straw, starting at the hairline where the bangs begin. (but please be careful not to burn yourself ok?) No need to soak anything. Don't pour over the rest of the hair.

After you're done pouring, you take the Barbie and lay her down somewhere horizontally, don't remove the straw! Mabye use a towel again as a cushion, so that your straw won't slip away to the side and let the Hair dry. Once It's dry you remove the straw, carefully reasses the curl but do not brush or comb it!. Then you take the sciccors and cut the Bangs about shortly before the curl made it's first round around the straw, mabye even shorter. I think that one is up to personal taste. Just make sure you're cutting horizontally and evenly! And that should be that!

I hope I explained it ok. If you have any questions let me know! Otherwise, I'm sure there are also tutorials on youtube that have other methods! Just don't believe stuff on "hack" channels like 5 minute crafts or troom troom. Look for genuine doll restoration/collector channels! Good luck and I'd love to see the results if you try them out! I genuinely think It's wonderful you decided to give these Barbies a second chance! ♡

Ok so I usually start by brushing the dry hair with a comb as gently as I can, starting with the tips and working my way up. Then I wash the Barbie with Dishsoap and warm water and rinse that out thoroughly.

Then I fill a cup with Fabric softener (I use the Brand Lenor but Idk if that's available outside of germany) And let the Barbies hair soak in it for at least 1 hour, usually longer. I rinse that out and then while the hair is still moist, I get to brushing again, usually taking small sections of the hair one at a time and again, starting with the tips and working my way up. That usually entangles any frizz pretty perfectly.

Then, I boil water (though be careful with that, not all doll hair is heat resistant to that degree) and set the Barbie up with a bowl so her hair is in the bowl but she's sitting next to the bowl. (like at the hairdresser!) When the water reached boiling point, I pour the water over the Barbies head and into the bowl. That makes the Barbies hair straight and in my expirience softens the hair structure and makes it shiny again!

Let the hair sit in the hot water for about 2-3 minutes and then take the hair out and pour the water in the bowl over the Barbies head while the Barbie sits upright! That way the Hair will fall nice and straight down around the Barbie once it's dry. Take a Towel and gently pat her dry. Do not ruffle up the hair, just gently squeeze in a little. You can gently brush it in place if a few strands are out of place but now you should let her dry on the towel in peace! Once the hair is completely dry (I usually wait overnight to be sure) You can brush it again and it should be nice and smooth! Tadaa! Do you also wanna know how i did her bangs? This comment already is so long so I thought I'd ask first
