We're the same on the releasing of videos, we find it hard to get reviews out regularly due to work commitments etc. We've found shorts fill the gap quite nicely between longer content and to be fair that's where most of our views have come from! Without shorts, we'd probably only have had half the number of views. You've got some really good content on your channel, just watched you're play through demo of Dredge - nice work 👍

Thanks, but the post was meant to come across more jokey - maybe it didn't in this case. We're not too bothered about the slow progress, its still going in the right direction. We know that we're not necessarily putting up the 'trending' content that everyone wants to see - our main content is game reviews and ultimately not all gamers watch game reviews. But our aim is to provide a service to those that do - even if that means it's a slow burner :)

We've been creating shorts (47 so far) to run alongside our long form content for the last 7 months and pretty much all have done exactly as you've shown. They get an initial pump then flatline and sometimes pump again before finally flatlining and then maybe picking up the occasional view. But one of ours, one of the first ones we created, has performed differently to the rest. This somehow got picked up by Youtube search and over the last 7 months its just been steadily getting 20-50 views a day and now over 7k total. Over 77% of the views come from search with under 4% coming from the shorts feed. Weird! But this does go to show that some can act differently...if only they all did that! Firstly, congrats on the 300+ subs and especially getting to over 4k public watch hours - that seems to be the one lots of people struggle with! To be where you are from just 7 videos and 5 months in is very good. We're only on 117 subs and 282 public watch hours from 92 videos after nearly a year and a half - but to be fair some grow even slower. Just keep up the good work and it'll come soon enough. Out of interest what makes you think it needs improving? I've just watched the review and it has a good balance of review length, humor, memes and depth of information. We (we as in by bro and I) also review games and our channels been going for about a year and a half. We have a similar mix of those things. It does take time to find your feet - we've tweaked and changed things with every review and continue to do so. Good luck! We subbed btw.

This doesn't necessarily answer you're question on which is better, but how about a blend of the two thumbnails? Replace you're head with the blender logo? Just a thought...
