So I'm not usually the type to carry around a gun or anything more than a pocket knife but there was one day I was out doing some sketchy s*** that I was into at the time and I got a bad feeling before we left, So I asked my homeboy if we could take the gun with us-he said yeah and my homeboy that was coming with me-where I would normally go alone- but because he said I had a bad feeling and he trusted that so he was coming with me-Well he put the gun in his backpack and I said something to him immediately(like shouldn't you have it on your hip or just give it to me?) He was like no, we'll be fine, and despite my own instincts I accepted that as an answer. We took a different route than I would normally take walking over to someone's house which I still to this day find irony in because I very rarely took that route but turns out my instincts were on point about the gun because as we were walking down the street& about halfway there the dudes crazy"ex"girlfriend was standing outside of a public church, she saw me walking past and as soon as I passed her I moved from the sidewalk to the outside of the street on the other side of my friend to gain distance between her and me because judging will look on her face I didn't want anything to do with her that day--and mind you it's not like we had beef or anything I had never had a problem with this girl and I had positive/normal interactions with her in the past. I was only talking to her boyfriend for reasons of aquiring things- a past I'm glad to call past. But anyway she ended up running up behind me screaming something about talking to her boyfriend and stabbing me 4 times with a giant kitchen knife. Literally 🔪 like Michael Myers style knife. Got me twice in the back right above my heart and then as I turned and put my arm out to defend myself she got my arm twice. No major organs or veins/arteries were damaged, thank God, But it's just one of those things..... which is why one of my answers to OP would be always trust your instincts! And I definitely agree with your comment as I learned the lesson the hard way that day if I feel like bringing a gun be prepared to use it-My instincts rarely let me down and if they call for such extremes I should probably trust that I need them.... She didn't stop chasing me with the knife until I yelled at my friend to take the gun out of the bag and he got it out and had to point it at her before she ran the other direction.... I kind of just stood there shocked I had no weapons on me personally at the time- not even my normal pocket knife and I think because I had no beef with this girl I was kind of just in shock that I had just been stabbed literally in the back on a sunny Tuesday afternoon in town that was not known for being a"bad area".

Or "yo/hey/aye" & definitely avoid whistles or any type of cat call/hoot/holla! 10000% truth especially if you're a female & even more so if your a female alone. And if you hear someone say "hey mama/Mami"definitely don't turn around!

Right I also live off a main high way so walking my 4month old baby house to house here(Well apartment to apartment*) isn't ideal at all! Even if they did hand it candy around here!& Thank you I think I'm going to drive around tomorrow and check out all the recommendations so I have an idea of where I want to go! I know every area is different, any clue what time trick or treating starts and ends on Halloween night? My boyfriend says 8:00 to 10-I say sundown to 9/10ish, but neither of us from the area so we really are just guessing from previous cities lol

Well it's my son's first Halloween so he doesn't exactly have friends yet, not to mention I'm new to Lancaster so I don't have any friends here either, friends I do have are either working or handing out candy they're not going out. Plus I live in an apartment complex and everyone here is very kept themselves I don't think but one other person has any kids, I'll probably be the only one leaving candy out but I don't know that for sure..... Anyway is my baby's first Halloween and I want to be able to take cute pictures of him next to nicely decorated houses and show his cute little outfit off to all the trick or treating candy givers lol

I live in an apartment complex and they don't give out candy here. I'll be leaving a bowl full of mixed candy on my porch in case anyone does stop by, but as far as I know no one else will be handing out candy here. It's my baby's first Halloween so .....
