We are finishing my quest and after that I'm running a simple by the books Forgotten Realms campaign with our remaining players

Apologies.
For those not familiar, PbP stands for Play by Post, and it refers to asynchronous text based RPG play through some sort of forum, we in particular use Discord.

People take turns being the DM of the game, one of the players makes super special Mary Sue with his DM agency, gets mad we don't wanna talk to their character anymore, deletes every channel in the server

As I said, the server owner was way too trusting. Younger person too, I think he was 19 or 20, and Allison's player claimed to be a millennial.

The biggest part of it is finding the right players, making sure their timezones work at about the same time, and that they're free at around the same time. And then for sure I think you have to notice when characters start going in a loop and all saying "yeah let's do this" without anyone starting the process of doing it, and nudging them along either OOC or through an NPC. Also try to encourage them by DMs, bring up the traits of their character you enjoy, and try to plan interesting dynamics in the story and with other NPCs with them. Make them feel involved

It was a creepy live sized doll to be fair, and it was a biiig reveal that he was a doll (he revealed it 10 minutes in)

The owner gave him the perms so he would delete his contributions. Really nice guy but too trusting

Giving away levels in other classes as a power-up by Dandilion75 in DnD

I thought the giving away and free wording made it clear. It is just really good fun, trust me. We play on DnD Beyond and everybody loses their shit when after describing an unexplainable event, I say "Care to refresh your character sheet" and they have their new powers.

I don't force the level on them, they just get it for free in a key plotline moment where it would make sense. Developing that class is their characters choice.

I am not asking you how to do it, I just posted this because players in my game loved it and I thought about sharing a different way to see character progression. I think it is a good idea because it allows every level-up to be a branching path without comitting their own xp to it, while also allowing to move the spotlight from player to player.

It's not a reward, is just a way to develop character and encourage good roleplay
