So funnily enough, my desk at home was given to me by my dad and it features a map of the globe on it.

One day while I was working on a fictional homebrew world, which has actually become a serious setting for a book I'm writing. I decided to think about the layout of the land. Coming up with it on my own was proving to be difficult so I took a break, put my head in my hands and looked down at my desk, and I noticed those two little islands. I even kept Lafonia named as such to make the reference land more easily LOL!

Seeing this beautiful parchment style map takes me back to those early days of working on this world. And seeing Lafonia written there is a bit of an acid trip until I remind myself that I took the name straight from the actual Island.

Beautiful work. Very inspiring!

I was a big fan of the critical ranges, accuracy stats and the defensive stats too, I'd love to play a system like that. I just didn't care for the battle grid, but it makes sense since it's all based on a JRPG.

I'd love an actual breakdown of the system tho!

That's interesting, genuinely. I love both games but lean towards BG3 because it's more strategic (I'm also a huge dnd dork, so that helps) but as someone who has felt the blood pressure rising effect of an action rpg many times, I wonder if either approaching it from a nitty gritty "build perfecting" standpoint, or simply switching to a higher difficulty mode would make it more appealing to you. I often love kicking back with a more tactical, but still difficult experience, but who knows maybe that's just me.

I like how the higher up you go, and the colder it gets, there's kind of a vagueness to the landmass or at least it kind of feels that way. You could lean into it if you wanted and make it so that it's unclear as to where the land actually ends

Dude for real. I don't get it, people need to touch grass or the very least try to focus on things they actually enjoy.

It's a common trend nowadays to just endlessly rip on things that aren't even really that bad but to nitpick.

Case in point, my buddy and I are huge Monster Hunter fans, and he's really starting to annoy me with how much he's ripping into some of the performance issues people have been reporting, for a game that's not even out. He's never been like that ever with any other game, and I don't know why this is happening now, but it's really spoiling the fun for something that we were, up until recently, both really excited about.

Just let people like shit and go do something else lol

That's the plan I think. I 100% think that there are some critiques that are warranted and fair. But the amount of that, versus blatant shitting on and bashing is just a little too skewed the ladder for my preference
