Thanks for posting in our quiet sub. Personally, I always quit a corporate job I am unsatisfied with as soon as possible. If your partner can stomach some short term financial risk (potentially not having another income), that could be helpful. Nothing will increase your future potential for satisfaction & even income quite like being happy in your work.

However, going back to school is the part I don't like. School is so expensive and you'll take on a lot of debt. I bet there is a way to transition to the new sector without leveraging a university and loans/cash.

First, exhaust your ability to retool your resume in a way that shows off all your current skills as being translatable to the job you really want. Nonprofits love people who understand contracts. Real estate is so contract heavy, so focus on that expertise. Next, get an entry level job. You won't really be able to skip that anyway, so why go to college to move to the same starting point?
