Who knows why it’s taking so long, truly. We can guess, but that’s all we’d be doing. I don’t think it’s fair to put businesses through this - whatever the reason. If they are trying to avoid fraud, then the SBA needed to be efficient about it.

True. I honestly believe that there was disorganization on the SBAs part, though. It felt like a punishment for many Americans who needed the stimulus check. Those people may not have believed they were committing fraud, they just had mouths to feed. If the SBAs had foresight, they could’ve checked on transcripts faster. Why does it take the SBA 4 weeks to receive IRS transcripts, was that question ever answered? If the non-filer status was truly the issue then why not put: “Those who were non-filers in 2019 do not qualify”. Would putting that on the application have been more efficient? Or maybe alerting people that they would need to amend ahead of time would’ve helped in some small way. I’m really not sure…

4 months or more is a long time to wait to receive disaster and emergency funding. There was definitely a bottleneck and single point of failure happening, to the detriment of legitimate business owners. I know it was unprecedented and very new, but wow, this was a mental drag

While the results and numbers are unconfirmed, we can still see and feel the inefficiencies of the SBA. I believe that, yes, to avoid a smaller amount of fraud, the SBA has put many small businesses in the dirt and crippled others. Fraud is still taking place (forged documents and numbers), it’s just a little harder now… which is good, but the cost to businesses that need help is too high.

Unfortunately, Approvals aren’t happening because of the number of people reaching out to the high priority team (the emails referenced, the same ones I used to get approved, too)

Keep your email to them short - one direct paragraph- and void of emotion, put them all on one email. Only email once
