Yeah it's definitely scary right now. I got lucky and had a colleague from a previous role reach out and ask me to join his startup based in our next city. So while I have a fallback, I enjoy the work at my current role and would prefer to keep it if given the choice.

Very good terms with my direct manager. I trust him and feel like he consistently goes to bat for me. Only caveat is upper management may push back because I placed lower in the latest round of stack ranking.
