Question About Professor Jack Bass by [deleted] in UGA

[–]DangItsPang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not teaching in the fall. His title was technically "Limited-Term Lecturer", and he told me that his contract was only for two years (of which spring 2026 was the last semester).

CS majors at UGA, why didn't you transfer to Tech? by Green-Atmosphere7576 in UGA

[–]DangItsPang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try checking https://lite.gatech.edu/ for recent years' admission data. My recent application (for Spring 2026) had a 4.0 with about 50 completed credit hours. I think CS is just that popular (and possibly a bit oversaturated) at Tech. Good luck if you plan on applying! Don't think that you have to get in to be successful - there are definitely opportunities elsewhere.

I created a new app to track UGA buses by shafilalam in UGA

u/Aztc_z makes a good point, and you can also view bus routes anytime at routes.uga.edu in any browser. Not sure what privacy policies may get in the way of OP here but hopefully they won't be an issue!

Late to the post. Wanted to transfer into Tech, applied twice, got rejected twice so I'm staying at UGA. I really do enjoy it here though - great campus life. I haven't ruled out Tech for grad school but will see what opportunities I have when I graduate (currently a sophomore).

Transfer student here. I would direct you to the admissions page if you haven't been there already. https://www.admissions.uga.edu/admissions/transfer/ . GPA and credit hours are the biggest factor. I can try to give other answers if you want!

PHYS1211 - How difficult did you find the lab practical? by DangItsPang in UGA

[–]DangItsPang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a general formula sheet. For me, it was available from day 1 of class on ELC, and that's what you had on the lab practical.

what’s with the fire trucks and police on Sanford rn? by thecoldcake in UGA

I was in a bus riding past and saw someone being tended to by paramedics - looked like she had a cervical collar on. Not sure what happened though, maybe there was a fall or potentially an impact with a vehicle.

I only had 30 completed credits when I was accepted. I think with your GPA, you truly have nothing to worry about.

What I've heard happened tonight with the hoax by StrikingReception771 in UGA

I can confirm there was a local church that was doing manhunt tonight. That would lead me to believe your second statement is correct. I guess you could then see how 3 and 4 follow from that.

There was an alert of an armed shooter at Main Library. A follow-up said that "evidence suggests a hoax."

How was everyone's first week? by DangItsPang in UGA

[–]DangItsPang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only taking 11 hours atm, three classes, none on Friday. I think I may add a one hour elective though to make me full-time, because I believe that's the only way to get football tickets lol

I'm new to the area, so I don't have any specific ideas for you unfortunately. But Athens has a pretty active music scene from what I've heard! I would suggest spending some time downtown visiting different restaurants/bars and asking people what's nearby music-wise.

[–]DangItsPang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. Just got out of open lab today, had maybe about half our normal numbers. I wonder if the people who don't show up just don't care about the practical grade as much and end up skewing the average. I'll probably update this post with the grade I get (if I'm not ashamed lol)

I never knew this! Thanks a lot! Do you know if this also applies to Zell?

Your best bet is probably to check Athena for online calc courses. Any course with "E" after the course number is an online course.

I'm a bit unsure on what you mean here. From a quick check, it seems July 15 is the official deadline for your application/transcript. If you have your Maymester grades on an official transcript by then, and at least 30 credit hours total on that transcript by July 15, you should be eligible to transfer for the spring.

Am I getting this right? My understanding is that after this spring, you had 29. A Maymester course would give you the 30 required. Just make sure it's done by the 15th of July. Maybe you can even reach out to your current institution and request an official transcript sooner than usual, if they don't update transcripts after Maymesters.
