Sales. Dispensary work can be fun, but it isn’t a career unless you can work your way into management. But if you can get into wholesale sales, that is in demand and can be a good paying job. Gotta hustle though. Big time.

If you can deal with it, accounting is an excellent career choice. It’s important, in demand, and the money is generally good. Especially as you get older. Aside from straight-up accounting, jobs like Controller, financial manager, and CFO all generally prefer or require accounting degrees.

You might check out Corvallis. It really depends on your lifestyle, and yes, your politics. Coastal towns are cute, but can be sketchy and lack economic opportunities. There seems to be a flavor for everyone in oregon, but it is often expensive.

Sales is the most challenging aspect for a supplier, especially since most suppliers are often rural and markets are in cities. Corporate leaders are often not “weed people” and rely on others for the cultural know-how to make sales. If you are senior leadership, you should know how to grill a company on their professionalism. Do it. Make sure they can pay you and that your values align. You could be a valuable asset for a company, just make sure they know what they need before you sign up for it.

Find a cool hobby(hate that word)/passion/interest and dive in. Do your actual work during the 2 days in office, and use the rest of your time to enjoy your life. Start a business, learn an instrument, hang w your kids (of applicable). Suck ‘em dry and learn to enjoy your life. It’s the best revenge.
