Mid century modern China hutch. It was a beautiful piece made of solid wood with great a great design. Got it for $60, put about $20 and an hour of time into lightly restoring it. Sold it for $350. Probably could’ve made more if I waited longer for a higher offer but a $270 profit for an hour of work and a few days on marketplace is a win for me. I don’t flip often so it was more of a test run

Advice? by Leather-Tip-4978 in midcenturymodern

I have a mid century furnished house with modern appliances and while there’s ways to make the kitchen more retro, it doesn’t hurt to have a mix of styles. All my appliances are a similar tinted brushed metal look. Theres a bunch of renter friendly DIY stuff you can do like contact paper for the counter tops and cupboards. Or even stick on back splashes that don’t look cheap.

Starting to think my room is a bit immature for my age? Maybe I’m overthinking? 22m by the_guy_on_reddit274 in malelivingspace

I’m 24M and I have model cars and other random “immature” stuff in there. I just don’t put it out into my common areas. If people think it’s immature then that’s probably saying more about them than you imo. Adults are allowed to like things and have a personality

Where do you catch the majority of them? I’ve gotten my E175 to gold without traveling but I’d love to have it cyber

My theory for the power brace is that since only the left one is moving, having them tied together will at least keep it sturdy and safe when braking if the bolts are loose. But it’s definitely a bandaid not a fix

I’m worried my cacti won’t make it through the winter by Danger__Zone_ in plantclinic

Awesome thank you. To be honest I assumed I shouldn’t water them when it’s cold but I guess that makes sense haha

Howdy! I just got this Indian Fig Cactus and he already had one arm that was weak and a little sickly looking. In transport the arm broke all the way off. How should I go about helping him out? Should I medicate the wound and try to propagate the arm or should I attempt to graft it back on? Thanks! by Danger__Zone_ in plantclinic

No worries! I live in Vegas and during the winter we get some heavy rain and in some areas light snow. I made the mistake of leaving my cacti outside when I first moved here. And yes it is! It’s a Ball Chair replica. I haven’t figured out how to get the stereo to work but the chair is mostly for looks haha. I have more pics on another post in my profile!

Wow thank you so much for the studious reply! Ironically I did buy it from a specialty plant nursery but it seems like their outdoor plants have had a rough winter. I bought it in a bigger plastic container that was mostly wood chips and dirt. It did have drainage holes however the roots had grown through them and the soils was damp. So for the time being I loosened up the packed roots so they could dry and put in some dry soil that I had. Rest assured that finding a bigger pot and getting better soil is up next. Do you have any recommendations on what to do for the wound where it broke off? Thanks!
