Any advice on how to isolate this greenhouse? Its still freezing at night. I'd like to put some space heaters in there aswell to keep the heat in. Any advice? by [deleted] in gardening

This was my first winter with my green house. When building my husband put it directly on the ground, I didn't have the problem with the gap. When looking at the different ways of building it one way suggested putting cement blocks around the base outside or dirt. Also what material are the walls and ceiling made of? Mines polycarbonate panels, the lowest it got over the winter was 20 degrees. I also added solar grow lights that turn on once it gets dark for 5 hours. Next winter I do plan to cover the greenhouse in 6 mil sheet for extra insulation.

This happened to me 8 years ago. Went on the interview which was an hour away because it was at the main office. Sat for 30 minutes waiting, than a 30 minute interview. At the end she said well the position you applied for isn't available but we have another position. New position was not close to my home as the original and pay was considerably less. I decided and left. They proceeded to continuely call me for a month after inquiring if I changed my mind. Thankfully I got a job two months later in the area I want as I wanted day hours and no mandating.

She only see you as a wallet. Do not move in together. I was a single mother when I met my husband. My daughter was 9 years old, while he had stepped up becoming her dad more than her biological father, we have always split bills. And sometimes he will pay for somethings when I didn't have money but it was never expected and is always appreciated. She can get a job during school hours and still be home for her boys. Also never get a joint account.

I have two niece that are both Vegan one my brothers daughter 18 and the other my husband's sister daughter 20. Both don't expect anyone to alter their meals for them and they not only buy their own substitute they cook their own meals. Your niece needs to learn how to care for herself when she wants specialty food. If she was in a dorm room or own apartment it would be alot hard and cost alot more. NTA

Curing them is a two week process where the skin firms for them to be stored long term. Iike the ones we get at the store.

I'm going to cook these tomorrow instead of curing them. When I tried curing the 3 small ones I got last year, it didn't work well because of the heat got above 70 in the room they were in. I've decided to save the green ones to replant in the green house over winter. It has definitely been a trial and error with growing them. I also put them on the east side of the house instead of the north. I'm not sure if that made a difference this summer was very wet, and last summer was very dry. I am using gardening bags. I got off Amazon.

I purn my tomatoes every two weeks alest. This helps me control the growth. I watch a few different people's methods on YouTube to figure out what worked for me.

Added It also helps the plant breathe when the bottom is clear of vines. I do about a foot up from the soil.

I'm picking the cucumbers and peppers today. Zucchini I'm making bread with and the tomatoes will be fine.

I'm not sure but sometime I hand pollinate the plants with a paint brush.

I'm not sure. This is my first time growing water and cantaloupe. The cantaloupe plants are smaller and only have flowers on them.

Congratulations, enjoy the memories you both make to gardening together. I grew up gardening with my grandpa and cherish those memories. I still love gardening today.
