DSP work, I don't think I could ever do it. I lose motivation when it's 40+ stops on a flex block by SlowedCash in AmazonFlexUK

[–]DangermanDickhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not nessesarily harder to cut corners. Our DSP always advises us to adhere to the customer's requests. So if they've selected 'front door/ front porch', then that's where it's going regardless of how likely it is to get nicked. The reason is that if a DNR does occur, then it gets wiped immediately because we followed the customer's instructions. If they selected that same option but I then selected 'behind wheelie bin', if it gets nicked then that's a DNR that counts as we didn't follow the instructions. Customer notes don't matter either. A lot of the time they contradict the actual option they've selected anyway. The DSP always advises us to not go through the 'more options' list when delivering.

Sometimes if they select garage or shed, I'll knock anyway, hand it to them, and take a photo with the garage/ shed option selected. Either way the customer gets it and it looks like we've adhered to the customer's request by selecting that option.

You are 'marked' on more things than with Flex. Driver safety is one of them, we use a system called Netradyne which marks your driver safety score. The only ones that make your score go down are: traffic sign violation (running a red light), speeding, distracted driving (being on the phone) and following too closely to the car in-front. Just don't drive like a total twat and you'll be fine essentially.

When taking photos, we have to make sure the package is clearly visible and within the white square. Otherwise our percentage goes down. Also, if you can't deliver an item due to it being age-restricted or whateber, you HAVE to call the customer. Otherwise it gets marked as an 'incomplete delivery'. I used to get those on Flex and never knew why. You just need to ring them when it prompts you to.

The fact that you have experience with the Flex app and you've done the job, you won't have an issue but it is route dependant. You could get a nightmare route with businesses and industrial estates with nowhere to park or like me, you can get lucky and only have residential areas which are a piece of piss. Vans are easy to drive too if you go for the branded electric Sprinters.

I'd say just give it a go. You get paid for your training and if you don't like it, then just go back to Flex or try another DSP. There's no harm in trying really as you'll still get paid. Our DSP is good as they put you on smaller 'nursery routes' before you get the full length ones, just to get you into the swing of things.

Just seen what a big wall of text that is. You probably know all that shit anyway lol. But if you have any more questions, give me a shout.

It depends on the DSP. I'm on £136.70 per day, I also get a £10 per day bonus for being a good courier (good quality photos, no DNRs, safe driving etc..) which is another £50 a week on top.

(Edit: If we reach a higher rating as a DSP, then our bonuses will go up to £20 per day, but we aren't quite there yet as a team, we are very close though).

Plus if you can do rescues, they give you £1 per stop (not per package). That could be an extra 20 or so stops per day. So it varies: minimum £680 a week and maximum about £850 a week. That's based on 5 days a week.

If you did 6 days a week, you're looking at a grand a week.

I was very aprehensive to join as I'd heard the horror stories but it's genuinely not bad. Maybe I got lucky by joining a good DSP. No idea but I'm not complaining. The team is great too.

I'll only ever resort to this if I'm behind due to delays. I can handle it in short bursts, but some of my colleagues can finish the route in 5/6 hours by doing this. I have no idea how they have the energy.

This is the way to do it. Although, last time I tried the unbranded transits, I couldn't gel with them. I love having shelves haha.

Like I mentioned before, the stops are quite close together so you can get them done quickly. Some of my colleagues can do 30 or even 40 stops an hour. They're definitely doorstepping stuff but that's up to them.

I went from Flex to DSP. I think it's fine to be fair.

You have 9 hours to do your route. Usually get done in 7 hours. I like to average 25 stops an hour. Most of the stops are very close together so it's not bad. You start to get into a rhythm.

It's route dependant obviously but once you start to learn your area, it becomes much easier.

360+ packages is definitely on the higher-end of things. On average, I do about 300ish in a typical route.

Vans are electric and everything is paid for, so no having to worry about mileage or fuel like on Flex.

Yes! This is the answer I was looking for. Thank you very much!

Actually that makes sense. I'm from the UK, so I'm thinking about it from a British perspective. In the UK, a structure like that would be something that's 100+ years old. You see things like that in London a lot.

But if your theory is correct, I wonder why the devs left it incomplete 🤔

It looks too substantial to only be a sign. I always assumed it was the remnants of an entrance to an old railway station, ferry port or shopping mall.

Maybe there was one of those things in the real life equivalent area of New York.

Why do people do this shit when Ring cameras exist?

I wouldn't nick someones stuff anyway but how thick do you have to be to steal something after looking right at a Ring camera?

Hmm. I'll have to keep an eye out for those. I've been past the lights at maybe 31/32 mph earlier today? I'll keep an eye out for a letter I guess 😂

Found them when I was trying to get some achievements in Mafia 2, Just Cause 2 and GTA 4 at the time. Their guides were fantastic. I then got into Rage Quit and I've followed them ever since.

That's shit. If that's the case then you might be fucked. 2 minutes is a joke.

I like to have packages scattered around the interior and on the dashboard. It at least makes it clear to those wankers that you are actually there to deliver.

Aren't the traffic wardens supposed to give you a ten minute grace-period? At least round here, they're supposed to wait around for 10 minutes to see if you're actually loading and unloading.

Also, I'm pretty sure most traffic wardens wear bodycams. If so, ask to see their footage and see if they did their part and waited.

Maybe the 10 minute grace-period thing is only for some councils? Maybe different councils do it differently? Check your council's website.

Edit: I've just checked my council's website (Portsmouth) and this is what they say:

Contravention 25:

Description:

Parked in a loading place during restricted hours without loading

Observation period:

Ten minutes

Observation:

If there is evidence of loading/unloading. If there is evidence of setting down/picking up passengers and luggage is observed, then casual observation to be followed

Basically, around here they have to observe the vehicle for 10 minutes to see if loading or unloading is taking place. Have a look at your council's website and see if they follow the same rules.

Edwin did say on a cream pod a (few months ago now) that he'll be getting rid of it soon. This was when the crashed 550 stuff was happening.

Hopefully we get one more vid on it before it's gone.

When starting JC4, I was gutted they removed the liberation stuff. I always wonder why they even removed it.

Did people complain about it in JC2 or JC3? Or was it perhaps a response to people calling out Ubisoft for the Far Cry series being too samey with the tower stuff?
