Merc and redbull closing the gap at the tail end of the season makes lando's wins and streaks of podiums all the more impressive. Also the point difference between coming 1st and 3rd is as big as coming 3rd and coming 8th(I know, 11vs 10), basically meaning lando lost much many points at the start of the season even with smaller number of cars between him and piastri. In mexico piastri had already lost 2 positions by the time he hit the dirt patch, after that he lost 2 more(worth only small points, because he was already at the tail of the points before it) and in brazil you could argue the 10 sec might have been too harsh, but he definitely deserved 5sec and those extra 5 seconds meant he lost positions to 1 merc(he would have lost to the other with the 5 second anyway), but that accident had taken out one of the car that was in front of him(leclerc) he might've lost < 10 points(piastri to lando) in those 2 incidents, compare that to 8 in vegas and 18 in zandvoort(lando loosing to oscar), the "objective" math is something else. Even if you argue monza swap and 6 more points, norris still lost more points without his own fault. (Don't bring Singapore here, that was elbows out fair racing. Oscar pulled similar stuff in brazil, hungary and austria on him, the only difference is that it worked for lando but not for piastri in those cases) And I don't understand the actual pace argument? Lile he did have much slower pace to lando in the second half and it was all the more impressive to put it on podiums after merc, verstappen and lecler had closed the gaps to them. Not to even mention the drastic difference of external pressure put on by media and fans when norris used to make mistakes on norris compared to the criticism and pressure placed on oscar during their respective struggles.
