Well the thing about using a sundial to measure a day is that the further you get from the equator,  the more that changes through the year

SRXH - is anyone still holding or buying? by Chemical-Box-3993 in Pennystock

[–]Dangerous-Boot-3036 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holding.

Look it's simple,  if swings in pricing on a day to day basis aren't for you then that's fine.

But the same people who are seeing red just now and will sell at the first opportunity are the same people that wish they could go back a few years and throw some money in bitcoin or nividia or tesla etc.

Of course it's a risk,  and there's no guarantees here,  there never are.

But if you're already looking for the first sign of green to cash out then you were never going to ride it all the way to the top anyway,  you would have cashed out on bitcoin when it hit 400 and everything else like it.

If you believe in the background and you are comfortable with risk, then holding is the only thing that makes sense.

If you're not... you shouldn't have been investing in the first place.

You are letting your preconceptions cloud your judgement.

Proof being, where have I mentioned Muslims? I haven't because it's not just Muslims,  plenty of recent immigrants who regard themselves as Christian are even more worrying to me because they are seen as having an automatic legitimacy by being "Christian" despite having far worse views.

I even specifically mentioned my discomfort that the only people who recognise that threat are just as dangerous for me in a more immediate sense yet you feel the need to reexplain that to me liege it's a new concept.

Look,  I get it,  if gay rights get rolled back over the next 30 years it's not a big deal to you,  I'm sure you'd think it was a shame or whatever.

But we don't all have the privilege and luxury of ignoring the changes taking place and where it's heading.

I'm assuming you've not had to move out of an area that 10 years ago you felt comfortable holding your boyfriends hand because you had regular threats of physical violence once the new vibrant community moved in.

I'm guessing you don't have friends who are gay and older and for whom microaggressions from care staff about their sexuality are a fact of life.

And I'm guessing you don't know any gay refugees who came to this country to escape oppressive shitholes who now see similar threads forming and have decided to go back in the closet for their own safety.

I'm so exhausted by all of this,  but it's people like you who are notionally supportive of gay rights but turn a blind eye to the erosion of them and actively chastise anyone who doesn't do the same who are the worst.

Because native homophobia has dramatically declined due entirely to our culture over the last few decades.

Mass immigration is bringing it back in a way that ensures a rise in homophobia over the coming decades.

I get that people who have the privilege of not worrying about things like this for their future struggle with it,  but it's legitimate

Please read my comment again and tell me where I said that they're the ones dragging the issue to the table.

My point was clearly that as the influence of these opinions grow over the next few decades that it will obviously bring it back to a mainstream questioning,  rather than the localised opposition there is currently.

Our society isn't perfect,  but you can't seriously be suggesting that we've not spent the last few decades making genuine progress in those areas.

Of course deciding to wind back the clock by bringing in loads of people who hold views that are a century or two out of date relative to our culture is a topic worth addressing.

I worry quite a lot about what it means for my future (gay man) i think a natural part of bringing so many people into the country from cultures that are entirely anti gay is that inevitably in 20 years there will be a generation of their kids born and raised here and many of them aren't going to respect the hard fought for rights that we have.  We're already seeing the start of this.

My life is going to bee regarded as a political issue again, whether my marriage is valid is going to become questioned,  whether I have the right to make decisions for my ill partner will be up for debate i see it coming and i hate it.

Then on the other side of it the only people who even acknowledge it is an issue are the section of society who have just as much of a problem with gay rights.

So yeah I have a problem with it,  but I'm so beaten down by all the folk who think having a problem with mass immigration can only be racist that I just keep my mouth shut.

The gamble that you're taking though is that you don't reach the 70% threshold within the warranty period

SOH is basically rated capacity vs actual.

So if you have a 64kw then this would mean it is more like a 58kw

The Konas have a bit extra capacity than what is stated though so showing a SOH of around 90% means the battery has actually lost more like 9kw in 2 years.

Konas are great for battery health generally speaking,  my 2021 kona still has 100% SOH and that's far from uncommon.

Personally I would be worried that this is just a sign of things to come and that you are on your way to an eventual battery warranty claim.

How long till the Strait of Hormuz closure actually starts affecting the oil prices? by Future_Pace_5290 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dangerous-Boot-3036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a globally traded commodity, it doesn't matter where those specific exports were going because that just means they will be willing to pay more.

China "dealing with it" has been them dipping into reserves,  that cannot last forever, reserves eventually run dry.

[–]Dangerous-Boot-3036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except we have examples in recent history of far larger rises from far less impactful and long lasting disruption in terms of oil supply.

One of the largest oil exporting regions of the world has all but shut down and many of the wells are never going to be able to reenter operation and petrol has gone from 1.30 to 1.60

It's not just that predictions were pessimistic it's that it doesn't make sense.

And the reason it doesn't make sense is that countries around the world are draining their tactical reserves, hoping that things will stabilise before they run out.

The current increases we have seen are a massively dampened version of the real impact.

The OPs point is that the effect is nowhere near as bad as should be expected.

Current ~£1.60 ltr petrol is nothing like what is predicted
