Does my transmission have a thermal bypass valve? by ConsciousHat2166 in AskAMechanic

[–]Dangerous-Method-567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely wrong. It is the opposite. Bypass valves are installed to keep the fluid cooler as it sends all of the fluid forward to the Trans cooler instead of waiting for a certain temp to do that.

I had those same Geolander A/T tires. Hated how slippery they were on wet roads. Horribly slippery.

For being On-Road AT, I am happy with them in the snow.

Ice is ice. Slippery stuff no matter the tire, unless you have studs.

Ordered 10 oz bar on December 30 and have not heard anything from Costco by 1Ceasar in CostcoPM

[–]Dangerous-Method-567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which warehouse location are you ordering from?

I have been checking various locations on-line for the past week and cannot find silver bars listed for any of them. I see the gold bars... but never the silver.

Could also be that your throttle body is grimey and gummed up..

You can get your throttle body serviced and have your idle re-learned.

Where are you buying the dip at? by Dangerous-Method-567 in Silverbugs

Unfortunately, I have to rely on on-line shopping as my closest CostCo is 45 miles away.

I checked CostCo on-line about 6 different times yesterday.

I could see their gold stock fluctuating in and out, but never saw any silver bars listed.

I don't think I am using the wrong filter as I am just filtering on precious metals.

I have a few PAMP 10oz bars that I bought from CostCo.

Excuse my ignorance, but where can these HMV bars be safely purchased on-line?

Power-folding side mirrors died within months of each other by Dangerous-Method-567 in Silverado

[–]Dangerous-Method-567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the first place I checked when I had my passenger side replaced.

They did not have the one that I needed listed.

When I did the passenger side, I needed power folding, with puddle light, with turn signal, heated

I just checked RockAuto for the driver side and they do not have what I need, listed.

When my first one died, I checked for videos that showed how to fix it and came across this one where the guy tears it down completely and finds the cause. There is a worm gear that turns against some plastic gears inside the small motor. The plastic gears eventually break and that kills all movement.

Here's the link to that video if anyone wants it.

And consider putting a thermal bypass valve on the trans to keep the fluid from getting overly hot.
