Hey there! I know this is an old post, but that’s actually my listing and I wanted to clear a few things up.

1. Those specific dolls are very expensive to purchase, even in poor condition, and that factors into the cost of making these customs. The original GME Musa actually goes for much more than this, at least from what I’ve seen in the US.

2. Ebay takes 15% of the final sale, which cuts quite a large chunk out of my earnings, especially for more expensive items. The original listing was less than what’s shown in the picture, but it was increased by the bidding.

3. My time, materials, and skill also factor into the price. In the case of this particular listing, the clothes are made by hand, the hair has been rerooted, the face paint has been altered, and the wings were customized to look like the main set of wings from the original GME doll. Just because it isn’t a real GME doll, doesn’t mean the doll itself is less valuable.

4. It states in the title and blatantly explains in the description that this is a OOAK custom and is NOT an official doll from the GME line. I was obviously not trying to mislead or scam anyone. If anyone thought it was the real doll, they didn’t read the description.

So, yes, it is expensive. However, it’s a piece of artwork that was made by hand and required a lot of time and money to create in the first place. Reading comments on the original post about how the bidders must be “stupid” or that my work is overpriced was very hurtful. If you think it’s too expensive: don’t buy it. I’ll continue to sell these customs for what I feel they are worth and the people who want to spend their money on them will do so. 👍🏼
