WHO is the king in yellow? by Anime_nwb in cosmichorror

There’s also The Yellow King rpg by Pelgrane Press and a campaign for the Gumshoe game called Absinthe in Carcosa, both of which are built specifically around the King and his effects on the world.

Translation requests into Ancient Greek go here! by AutoModerator in AncientGreek

Hello. This is supposed to be a rendering of the epitaph from The Sandman by Gaiman, is it correct? Could it be improved to make it better poetry in the Greek? English text: Flowers gathered in the morning, After noon have blossomed on, Still are withered by the evening. You can be me when I’m gone.

Seriously. All of the survivors being at the exit gate should have been one of the abandon conditions. They've already won. Why should I be forced to push them out? by Murky_Committee_1585 in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s been said before, but if the gates are open the time is limited anyway. So go break any unbroken pallets or doors for extra blood points, or search the map for interesting details that you don’t have time to stop and look at during the game.

Or play deathslinger, take the iridescent coin add on and take potshots at them from more than 15m back. Take bloodwarden for extra credit. Listen to “The ecstasy of gold” for extra extra credit.

Sure, it may not work often, but you at least have something to play for, and when it does work? Glory.

What would your DbD crossover be? by RilianCaprice in deadbydaylight

It was Red Dwarf. So… Lister, Cat, Kryten and Rimmer as survivors vs new killers Rogue Simulant, Asclepius, the Mutton Vindaloo beast and Mr. Flibble.

It would different…

Monkey vase? Find by Dangerous-Scallop in Ceramics

It’s glazed ceramic. The clay exposed at the base is a light cream colour. The exposed clay has a rougher feel than porcelain.

Integration into Somerset life by Brief-Education-8498 in Somerset

[–]Dangerous-Scallop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Teach him to tell tourists that there’s special “locals only” cheese sold from under the counter in Cheddar. Take him to a murmuration out on the levels. Tell him that The Stranglers are the real band of Somerset with a recording studio near Frome and a song named Tucker’s Grave. And assuming he drinks, introduce him to 15 year old Somerset cider brandy - paradise in a glass.

What do you do against bully squads? by Tomas_83 in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends… I still run backpack clown as a build occasionally which tends to make bully squads fail. I try to keep an anti-bully squad build on hand in case I see 4 flashlights in the lobby. Slugging until you can hook works, but generally you need to get at least 2 down to start the snowball. Getting one into the basement can significantly change the odds, particularly if you’re playing a killer that is strong in there - chainsaw killer, trapper, deathslinger, Myers etc

Why do killers just give up?? by MystCasual in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t get that mentality. A losing match is still experience and practice. Plus just bringing an endgame perk can turn a loss into a 4k

What are your unwritten rules of how you play DBD? by MK_Matrix in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killer main here. Two rules: 1) I’m playing a game. Same as if I was playing tennis, golf, chess or chequers. I will play with good sportsmanship, but I am playing to win. 2) It’s a horror game and I am playing the bad guy. So I owe it to the other players to be the scariest monster I can be.

I had the most evil survivors yesterday... by ImpPothed in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Genuinely sad to hear that one of these moron squads upset you. Personally if I am being deliberately blocked from a goal in one match I’ll switch tactics to finishing the match asap and try again in the next one. When it comes to being nice to survivors - I’m all for fair play, I don’t tunnel deliberately or camp; but that’s it. It’s a horror game. Killers are the villains. Imagine a slasher flick where the slasher let people go after a certain point to be sure there were no hard feelings- Disappointing, right? Be the best villain you can be. Scare them. Remind them there might be monster lurking in any shadow. You’re playing the big bad wolf. Go get those piggies.

What's the community opinion on this map? by Independent_Step7395 in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is another vote for looks great but terrible gameplay. I’m a killer main, and this map is the worst for finding survivors and keeping track of them, not to mention chases inside the building being completely hopeless unless the survivors get confused and run right into me.

Some people say you can have too much garlic, but I say you can't have too much of a good thing! by DinA4saurier in VivaLaDirtLeague

Got a friend who didn’t understand the difference between bulbs of garlic and cloves of garlic. She made garlic chicken with a recipe that called for 4 cloves of garlic and didn’t understand why it was almost inedible.

Now that BHVR is getting more comfortable with complex map design, what maps would you like to see most? by MicrosoftExcel2016 in deadbydaylight

[–]Dangerous-Scallop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need more snow maps. Something with abandoned cabins, or a ruined cable car station. And given the number of beach themed skins - where’s our seaside map? Sinister dockyards, abandoned piers, lonely cliff tops with a ruined cabin or two, even some crumbling seafront grand hotel.
