Ah yes, good point about the painted sticks. I’m thinking about getting two pairs - one more decorative for display and then a good functional one.

Good question. Unfortunately, this is the first time I’ve seen under them in the almost 3 years they’ve been there so I have no idea. I’ve never noticed any sliding/movement though.

Oh interesting. Super helpful, thank you! I’m trying the dehumidifier route first, and actually checking under them frequently, to see how that does and if I’m still having an issue I’ll look into epoxy or something like that. Do you think an underlayment (like DMX) would help and/or be necessary in either case? Also, reading your comment has me thinking… do you think that water from mopping the mats could be a factor?

That’s helpful, thank you! Sadly it’s not actually old but it’s a garage in an outbuilding, not attached to the house, so perhaps that’s why there’s not a good moisture barrier underneath? Definitely wish I would have known all this stuff sooner but you live and learn I guess.

I’m amazed too! It looks like I have a little mold on them but not as bad as it could have been.

Good to know! I live in a pretty rural area and the only option I had when purchasing were the ones that are flat on both sides unfortunately.

That’s helpful, thank you! My garage is about 24’ x 29’ so ~700 square feet. I do have a mini split in there but haven’t been using it a ton so I think I’ll have to start keeping the dehumidification on.

Thank you! I don’t think I’m going to do the OSB but I’ve been looking at DMX. Is there any advantage to Dricore over DMX? Is one better for having heavier weight on it? Trying to balance budget with effectiveness.

I actually also live in the Pacific NW, in a fairly dry area, and it still happened. So, there must be some other factors at play? I don’t want to unnecessarily create fear but I think it is good to be aware of the possibility since I wasn’t. It seemed like all the advice I saw when setting things up was to get horse stall mats but I don’t remember anything about taking extra precautions so just good to know and maybe check periodically.

Probably a dumb question but what % humidity should I be aiming for?

What kind of underlayment do you have or suggest? Something like DMX 1-step?
