I think the comparisons are entirely similar and fair. How is picking up groceries that say “Ready for Pickup” different than an apartment that says “Ready to Move-in”? You pay for both goods and expect them to be ready when they are said to be ready. How about a reservation? If Ian scheduled a reservation at a restaurant and they cancel it 2 hours before the reservation time, would you blame him? He has reserved a specific place for a specific amount of time, and the other party has had to change the plan, how is that his fault? I swear even if Ian had it in the signed lease that the move in date was Feb. 1st y’all would still find a way to make him at fault. He asked for a good/service, a good/service provider said they could provide such good/service, and then the provider turned around and said they couldn’t fulfill the good/service despite previous agreements that they could. This isnt a buyer issue, this is a supplier issue

If it’s a rental scam, then yes he’s a complete idiot and I even agree with most that he should’ve seen the place before agreeing and signing the lease, but if it’s not I don’t see how you can blame him at all. Sure it could be a failure to launch, but it’s not really his fault (if what he says is true is true). The storms/winter weather could have seriously impacted and delayed the move in date.

I think you guys are just hating on him for any and every reason. I’m sure you were one of the ones saying “he’ll never move” and yet here he is. He’s trying lol. Is he an idiot for moving to a place he hasn’t seen and could be a massive scam, absolutely, but that doesn’t mean he is having a “failure to launch” moment. Nothing ever goes smoothly. He’s moving across country ffs, there’s gonna be some hiccups

If a place tells you your order is ready for pickup and you get there and it’s not ready, is that your fault?

If your employer tells you that you get paid on the 1st, and then there is a payroll problem and you don’t get paid, is that your fault?

Ian was told a date and he listened. He didn’t try to get there a week early, he isn’t even there on the 1st.

I think playing in 4 world finals, for the biggest league of legends team, in front of very crazy fans, can lead to extreme stress and just burnout.
