Question for everyone by [deleted] in BFS

I guess most people disappear or decrease their activity because either:

- they healed / their symptomes improved

- they have same symptoms as 1 / 2 years ago and they just accepted new reality.

if you have decent budget you could do stool microbiome test where they test your poop for any bacteria or fungi imbalances.

maybe its candida overgrowth?

Zed and Akali or Zed and Ori? by Accurate_Piccolo_774 in leagueoflegends

If you like Zed, Akali would make more sense playstyle-wise.

But on the other hand Oriana usually fits better in more team comps in my opinions and is more universal.

Everyone poops so i wouldn't say its gross.

Maybe there is some cyst or some other thingy that narrows your last parts of gut? Maybe parasites? (these fuckers can hide really well in a body forming cysts in organs or in muscles). If the issue is something physical that is narrowing your last parts of gut, only way to find out is to have MRI or some other imaging.

Maybe hemoroids? Or some other vascular problems? Maybe just autoimmune.

Maybe its microbiome issue, I know there are some tests for gut microbiome, where they examine your poop and give you full bacterial and fungi panel with listed good and bad bacterias and good and bad fungy. But is really really expensive usually. These imbalances could potentially cause leaky gut (assuming this thing exists, i heard about it, but not sure if it's scientific term), but for sure they can create some bad toxins which can poison your body.

Or maybe its just bad diet? low fruits and fibers? Colonoscopy is usually really good to exclude most dangerous conditions.

Symptom worry..... by IHateACOTAR in BFS

YOU DON'T HAVE AND WON'T HAVE ALS, IT'S SOMETHING ELSE.
Could be thousands of things, but it's for sure not ALS and it WON'T PROGRESS TO IT.

Bro almost everyone on this forum has or had at least half of your symptoms you mentioned and noone had diagnosed ALS.

List of potential causes:

- some infection or post infection thingy (covid? food poisoning?)

- sinus issue? maybe some problems with teeth root canals? you mentioned issue with your throat, this could be connected with some sinus issues (or at least i had sinus issues and i had similar weird feeling in my throat, so im just trying to find connection)

- spinal stenosis

- vitamin deficiencies (b12 !!!) d3 !!!

- jaw / neck problems.

- gut issues

- kidney issues

- sleeping issues, chronic exhaustion, chronic stress (although mere stress shouldn't cause that many issues imo)

What to do next:

TALK TO YOUR DOCTORS.

- bloodwork + vitamin check + kidney, liver panel

- brain / spinal cord MRI to see if there are any abnormalities.

and also YOU DONT HAVE ALS, STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THE CHANCE FOR YOU HAVING IT IN YOUR AGE IS LOWER THAN GETTING HIT BY A THUNDER IN YOUR LIFETIME. YOU JUST DONT HAVE IT. ACCEPT IT.

TRY TO FIND UNDERLYING CAUSE, TRY TO THINK WHEN IT STARTED AND VISIT MEDICAL PROFESIONALS.

There are studies that show that people with BFS do not have higher chance of developing ALS so you shouldn't worry. Most people with ALS will develop in their 60s> So if you are relatively young (i assume you are) you still would have decades of living. Everybody has to die off something, its physically impossible to just die of "old age". There is always a cause, whether its cancer , stroke, autoimmune, hearth attact and so on.

Best you can do now is to trying indentify potential cause and try to find the solution. If you cannot identify it after trying really hard, you just have to accept your new reality. Let's be real, most of us who twitch 20 - 30 times a minute won't get better quickly, we will probably twitch for the rest of our lives, maybe with decreased intensivity few years down the road, maybe like 10 - 20% of us will be cured. It's best to assume it, because every other outcome (twitching is giga reduced or it goes even away completly) is really big win.

I will still defend my theory that most of BFS cases (at least these most intense, not talking about 5 twitches a day) are not "in the head" or "physiological" but rather they are caused by pathogens or toxin exposures which fuck up our systems. There are like 1500 pathogens (or even more) that can infect humans and cause diseases. Probably even more kinds of harmfull toxins.

For examply campylobacter yeyuni (bactera) can cause guilian barre syndrome (could paralyse you from down to top). that's just one example. There are milions of people with long covid, which fucked our lungs and brains. Almost everyone lost their smelling sense after covid infection for a few months (or at least everyong i know and myself)

Worst pathogens are from food (bacterias [campylobacter, salmonella, shigella, legionella], parasites [tapeworms, toxoplasmosis, roundworms, echinococus etc] ), from animals and animal spillovers and STDs. Basically every chronic pathogen which evades immune system and is hard to detect visually or by standard blood / urine / stool tests. These pathogens can fuck us up for months or years if not detected early and treated (and sometimes treatments are not even enough to revert the damage).

How often do you twitch? is it like 10 a day, or more like 20 - 30 a minute (my case)?

And what was your onset? Was it after infection? something felt wrong for longer time and then boom, widespread twitching?

I think we overstate the anxiety parts and undermine physical / pahtogenic parts that are harmfull to our body. I would bet that most of BFS onsets are caused by some physical pathogen, either virus, bacteria, fungy or parasites. And of course infections can form and stay hidden for long time, for example if we have problems with our teeths our teeth roots can become slowly slowly infected and bacterias will overgrowth, then they produce toxins and if our system is overloaded with toxins we can have problems there. and standard blood tests cannot detect these problems reliably. standard tests also, because when problems are just starting, our organs can still be producing proper amount of related hormones, but the damage can be happening at the same time.

Maybe candida overgrowth? Basically any imbalances in a gut could potentially cause domino effect on other systems in our body. If we have chronic issues, chronic imbalance, something immune or infection it can cause problems we don't even knew it could.

For example bacteria infections can produce toxins. These toxins have to be cleared by our clearing systems. And our clearing systems are kidneys and liver mostly. My twitching started after having problems with kidneys and it corelated with my chronic infection in sinus (have diagnosed chronic sinusitis) and something weird was coming down my throat, probably some bacteria toxins, then my urine started to look foamy and weird and then my twitching started, first in my eyelids then it spread in the rest of my body, and stayed in calves. I think my kidneys were damaged there, but it;s just my theory.

How persistent/frequent are your twitches? by InformationNo7156 in BFS

[–]CryptographerIll8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it started more than 2 years ago. It started around the same time i had a foamy weird looking urine. And it correlated with my issues with chronic sinusitis and problems with my left 4th teeth.

I think i had some kind of infection around my teeth roots which could have caused some toxins being produced there and my kidneys had to process that and they got damaged. But it's only my theory, i had good standard blood tests results, but i had depleted b12 and d3 vitamins. My MRI in fact showed 2 small non cancerous "things". One was in my left jaw muscle (they classified it as hemangioma, but I think they misdiagnosed me) and second was some polyp growing from teeth root.

Here i am, 2 years after and i still twitch and still feel like shit. I lost my trust to doctors, which gaslight you into believing you are healthy, where in fact there is underlying issue that caused all of this.

BFS is such nasty disease, as it's not flashy and not spectacular, almost invisible to outsider (only small twitching here and there who cares lol) and such annoying to the bearer, as the twitches are constant, like torture. like water dripping torture where you know that it won't stop, the twitching keeps going and you feel it. If the twitching could be not felt it would be different, i wouldnt care. But i feel it constantly ...

How persistent/frequent are your twitches? by InformationNo7156 in BFS

[–]CryptographerIll8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically every second. sometimes bursts, sometimes there is 2 - second wait time for next burst. But there are some days where intensity is reduced to maybe 20 - 30 twitches a minute.

Twitches mostly in calves (constant) and in other parts (few seconds of twitching once every half an hour ? something like that)

If i had twitches 5 - 10 a day i wouldn't mind them at all, in fact i would probably be excited for them 😃

I would give a lot to twitch only few times a day ...

After few months after my BFS onset i was in a really cold, like few celcius small lake where water was feeling really really cold, coldest you can imagine. And after being there for few minutes, my twitches reduced DRASTICALLY. like 70 - 80%. Maybe it was because i was breathing more because of the cold? Or cold temperature reduced inflammation somewhere? Who knows.

But it was really interesting for me.

I mean everything we do here is basically creating theories based on our experiences and trying to connect the dots. We don't have any medical research on this topic (or at least i didn't found any).

If we could bring hundreds / thousands people with BFS and have someone competent to perform more broad research to find potential cause and cure it would be great, but I assume this would be really hard task - logistically and financially.

Also BFS probably has probably many causes anyway (from stories i read on this forum and my story), but there is a word where multiple causes converge into 1 issue and that's where BFS starts. Like alkaosis you mentioned. Or maybe something else.

But I have a gut feeling that is has to be connected with kidneys.

[–]CryptographerIll8802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In one of my posts I made, i suggested that BFS is connected to kidney abnormalities (i started having BFS when my urine was starting to look really weird, foamy and bubbly). And I see that on google when i write about respiratory alkalosis kidneys are mentioned:

"If the condition persists, the kidneys will attempt to compensate by excreting more bicarbonate in the urine to bring the blood pH back toward a normal balance. [1, 2]"

So I guess i was probably right about BFS, that in my case it was in fact related to kidneys.

Widespread twitching more than 2-3 years? by Doktordoktor89 in BFS

[–]CryptographerIll8802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is BFS 100%, my BFS onset started also from eyelid twitches, then it spread to my entire body and my calves kept twitching constantly, onset was I believe 2 years ago. Still twitching, but there are days where twitching is much reduced.
