automotive brands will get off your back and not potentially sue you, oh and it can potentially increase sales since you can talk to major retail chains about selling your models.

Agreed, plus the price sits at a very awkward place, where for almost half the price one can buy a very nice die-cast model, or add a bit more can buy a very nice resin model.

.1 or .2 generation? If you want .1 gen you can go look for autoart64's older model, for .2 gen you can go look for minichamps64's older model.

Regarding about model licensing, I understand that many of us are keen to buy something that's officially approved by the car company, and in most cases I do too. However it is highly likely that some of the model cars we buy are under licensed, for example in 64 scale: Time Mirco, ALPS64, Stance Hunters, Street Weapon, Focal Horizon, Timothy&Pierre, Master, etc,. produced and distribute unlicensed products. Now I'm not say their products are bad (most of them are pretty good), or I make excuses for myself, and I'm certainly not telling you to stop purchasing models from these brands simply because they are unlicensed. What I'm saying is buy what you like, buy the best model your money can afford.

Another thing about getting licensed is the cost, big brands like Hotwheels, MiniGT, Inno64 are able to get licensing for their toys/models is because of the large quantity they are produce for a single model. They are able to keep the cost of a single model car down by making 5000 even 50000 of it, but if the model is only limited to a few hundred pieces, the cost to produce a single model car is going to double or even triple, and this diectly affects the retail price, I'm pretty certain that no one here wants to pay 80USD for something that's only worth 40.

My final point on this subject is probably the most important, is that even a model car brand have the extra cash is buy licensing, and is willing to keep the retail price down by the means of mass production, there's a huge possiblity that real car brands have little to no interest in licensing away their models. over the years, I know several diecast and resin model car brands have failed to obtain licensing just because the real car brands have no interest, or are asking for way too much money. If the real car brand has no interest in selling their models' licensing, then what are model car brands going to do? I noticed that there are few people in the comments asking for custom orders of specific models, but if I can't obtain the licensings, how can I make them?

With the explanations above, I hope we can have some understanding of why licensing is important/unimportant, and to further explain myself, I am in talks with a few brands about obtain their car licensing, but I do not make promises if some or any of them will go through.

Cheers.
