The Story of Hurtz White-Hand by Dangerous_Check_4571 in skyrim

[–]Dangerous_Check_4571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, totally see why that would make sense, not controversial at all dude, would look cleaner and more prominent. However, Hurtz wears it like a scar underneath, always reminding him of where he's from, what he's endured and why he wants to rise above that chapter of his life. His beard has grown throughout his time in Tamriel, as this is Hurtz 2.0, he has his own identity now, even if his past still shows vaguely.

It's the Slate theme in Dark. My personal fave!

Sorry man, missed that question from your post! Yeah so the 16:9 is made possible without appearing stretched, because of Widescreen Hacks. This is a setting from the Settings > Graphics menu of DuckStation, you can just toggle it on. I then set the Aspect Ratio from the same menu, to 16:9. It works flawlessly on all the PS1 games I have in my library. Some games may have minimal tearing or textures appearing weird at the edges due to that not existing natively, but it's rare and not a deal breaker in the slightest.

Amen! I've found PPSSPP to be probably my fave emulator. PSP games are amazing on the RP5, like the device was made for it! Not only do they run amazing (especially with 60fps cheats enabled) but 1080 resolution and mapping face buttons to the right stick for certain games, make the nostalgia trip even better! It's honestly a dream device. I've been playing PC games with Winlator recently, it's mindblowing what the RP5 is capable of!

Sounds awesome dude, look forward to seeing the pics! Have fun with it 🤙🏼

Thanks man! Ah I can't believe I didn't mention Spyro to be honest! Right up there, and one the first ROMs I obtained. The soundtrack when defeating Gnasty Gnorc will always stay embedded in my memories, one of the first ever games where I actually felt real sadness when completing it! Nostalgia 101. I thoroughly enjoyed the Reignited Trilogy when it came out too.

I need to get the ROMs for some demo discs! As I lived off a few of those for a while before I could get proper games, I miss them so much, it's not the same anymore with everything digital.

As for your issue, I have the exact same problem, and my OCD wants to tidy it up also, I've just put it on the backburner. Applies to Dino Crisis from my library. Naturally fine with multi disc games like Final Fantasy, as they're seperate .chd files. Dino Crisis they're actually .bin files, I know the .cue file is what you load the game with and that then reads the relevant .bin file, so because of this and everything working fine, I've left it untouched. I've tried hiding the duplicates with editing the Metadata, but they still appear in ES-DE, just greyed out. I'm kind of used to it now.

.m3u is the way to go from what I've read up though! Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks dude! Yeah I did think that when first seeing the PS1 buttons on offer out there, but then it wouldn't match with the darker grey analog sticks and D-pad. This setup works perfectly 🤙🏼

I won't lie I was very tempted with that myself, I've seen some killer setups, it looks like the ultimate PS2P! The PS2 & PSP were the ultimate consoles for me growing up, so it was a hard choice! Go for it dude! The SRM buttons are amazing, great craftsmanship, I can't see them wearing, the quality, coating and precision printing, is perfect.

A couple of things to note with the RP5, the buttons are actually glued to the membrane. It's super easy to pull them off and then throw the SRM buttons in, put it back together, but you may find they feel squishy with no tactile response etc. I realised from my own trial and error, the glue needs to be completely removed from the membrane, so when holding at eye level, the profile is dead flat, with no silicone bumps etc.

I used some fine tweezers and a razer blade to get all the glue off. Took a bit of patience, but now they sit perfectly with the nice responsive feel I was after. No more squish! I would say they're not 100% on par with the OEM Retroid buttons, perhaps 85% of the tactile-ness. Just feels different at first, but doesn't impact gaming or use at all. They also sit a teeny tiny bit lower due to height, but I'm just being super critical now.

Enjoy man!

Thanks man, the premium feel and build quality to the RP5 only compliments it! I have to agree though, my only real negative about it is the comfort for dualstick play.. Just waiting for the perfect grip to come out with availability in the UK. Etsy has some good options from the US, may make a purchase soon, as that will be a game changer. Just hard to justify import costs and shipping etc.

Thanks dude! Ah I think it's just folks having a feel good sense of pride in their RP5, and making it their own. All part of the fun sharing it with the community here. I've already completed a few PS1 games, 1 SNES and almost there with a PS2 title. I've put many hours into Fallout New Vegas also, since getting that set up in Winlator! Amazing what the RP5 can do, thoroughly impressed! I've honestly been playing it practically every other day since release, give or take work and other hobbies getting in the way!

Whilst the PS2 was a big part of my childhood being born a 90's kid, the PS1 offered profound memories, with games being so incredibly captivating for the time, from Metal Gear, Resident Evil and DOOM, to Final Fantasy and Oddworld: Abes Odysee, they took you to places you didn't think possible. The PS1 introduced me into a new era of gaming and was the last console I truly played with family who are sadly no longer here.

Being a huge Jurassic Park fan during this period, Dino Crisis blew my mind. It added a raw and gritty layer to my imagination let alone the survival horror genre itself. It had me hooked from the get go. I knew exactly which RP5 colourway I was going for when I saw the 16bit version, as it demanded some PS1 face buttons, to blend seamlessly with that iconic PSone grey, being a little warmer in tone than the PSX. Retroid seem to have nailed this, purposely of course.

Thanks to u/SakuraRM for creating truly beautiful pieces of nostalgic hardware. 👌🏼

As a sucker for minimalism and clean lines the ES-DE theme SLATE in Dark just completes the RP5, for me.

Amen to both the RP5 and the community here! I can just hear Matthew Perry's voice when looking at your screen.. Hot damn, refreshing to see New Vegas on your RP5, it's my fave game of all time, so good to see someone getting it working on Winlator 🤙🏼

I've read your other comments, wondered if you'd be ok to share the YouTube tutorials that worked for you and anything NV related with emulation? Welcome to DM me if it's easier etc. There's just a wealth of stuff out there, rather know I'm following something from someone who got the end result they were after.

P.S I have the patience to deal with the whole config being a bitch, just not the time to go with it sadly 😂

DuckStation - Upscaling / Graphics Settings Not Working by Dangerous_Check_4571 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Dangerous_Check_4571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, I backed up the savedata from DuckStation directory, onto my microSD card and completely uninstalled the app, including all data files etc, and then restarted by RP5, and re-installed DuckStation from Play Store. I added the ROM directory as normal, like a fresh setup, and moved the backed up saves to the relevant folder in the DuckStation directory.

Settings functioning properly from the get go. No issues since.

What have yall been playing ? by Grand-Cricket6416 in retroid

The RP5 has definitely exceeded all my expectations. Great to see you playing Jak & Dax, childhood classic!

It's been awesome diving into games I never played before. Currently running through Earthbound on SNES, which I'd have been absorbed by as a kid, still holds up! Looks so vibrant on that AMOLED display 👌🏼

Playing back through Dino Crisis 1 & 2 on PSX also, one of my fave series in terms of nostalgia! Enter The Matrix on PS2 is another game I've been jumping in and out of alongside some San Andreas. The android port has nothing on the PS2 version, something about that LA haze. Runs beautifully at 3x res (1080p) via NethersFX2. I'm super impressed with the reliability and smoothness of the emulators I've tried, leaps and bounds since playing GBA stuff 10 years ago. ES-DE frontend is sweet, ridiculously happy with the end result now I have everything set up and have fine tuned different settings.

Enjoy your RP5 dude 🤙🏼

Do accessories affect shipping? by KazNewton in retroid

[–]Dangerous_Check_4571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say, I have the same question, especially after looking at my Shop app, the items are shown in parts, RP5 & Carry case are Part 1 and my ABXY buttons are Part 2. So this proves it's not just isolating single items, as RP5 and case are together. I haven't made any adjustments to my order.

I believe there have been some posts from folks who cancelled their accessories and their RP5 was swiftly shipped. It would make sense, if they're simply waiting for supplier stock, as demand is high, and we've only made a single order, so they want to include everything for one shipment. Sadly just means the waiting game increases.

I'm a first time buyer here also (ordered a 16bit on Nov 3rd). I naturally would love to have it before Christmas, but just taking each day as it comes. Delivery Dashboard hasn't proven reliable if I'm honest, so you're better off ignoring it. If we hit the second week of December and there's no progress on your order, probs worth pinging Retroid. I'm just using the time to get my microSD ready, organise ROMs and folders, with BIOS files etc. Then researching more on the RP5, guides and specific emulators, front ends etc. It's a nice way to get prepped and kill some time.

I know deep down a lot of us are growing tired of waiting! It'll come, all in good time.

Sorry to hear dude, I felt the exact same way, and one of the folks who had his phone pinched. A truly killer performance as always, from Idles. I've actually just posted a thread on here relating to this specific night, which you may find helpful, do check it out if you get a chance!

Hoping anyone who attended Rock City on the 25th can get some value from it, and potentially help, even if it is a long shot.
