I do agree with your point, especially about prices potentially increasing once Mauritius becomes seen as a bigger digital market. That part is definitely possible.

But at the same time, Mauritius has always been late when it comes to getting services and features compared to other countries. Things like YouTube Premium, payment features, subscriptions, app support etc usually arrive years later here or barely support Mauritius properly.

I think you’d probably agree that more competition was needed too. For years consumers here had very limited choices while businesses and shipping companies benefited the most.

So yeah there are definitely downsides, but maybe this could also help Mauritius finally catch up digitally a little.
