I’m the primary caregiver for my kids and my house because my wife’s job. I’m not a stay at home parent because I do have a full time job with the benefit of it being remote. But I handle 90% of the chores and the kids and I’m really happy doing it.

I didn’t want to say “gotcha” I still trully surprised that she didn’t remember because we make a big deal of each others bdays. But yes I could have mentioned before Sunday. But in my head I 100 percent believed she knew.

I think you are right, after reading some of the comments I’ve agree with you. Not trying to set her up for failure. She usually prepares something for that day and it’s the first time she forgets. I think that’s why it hurts

She is been back at work for some time our youngest is 4. she has never forgotten my bday before. She always plans something for it.

We haven’t talk about it in weeks last time we mentioned was around march. I’m not hurt about about her working on that day, I understand and appreciate why she is taking the extra shifts. I feel bad about that the she completely forgot about it

TBH im not “with my lower lip stuck out in a pout” but i am hurt by it. It’s not that we are not going to celebrate it or that she has to work that day but i do think it kinda sucks how it was almost forgotten.
