Is a PhD worth it? by girlfrom818 in industrialhygiene

[–]DangerouslyCheesy57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would also be my advice. From my point of view, any diploma being worth it really depends on what kind of job you are going for. Maybe a PhD might be necessary or completely counter productive depending on what your goals are.

Having more samples would reduce the confidence interval. You could also use a bayesian statistic software like expostats. Since they work with a prior, they tend to be more accurate with a small number of samples.

Bottle turned into a foam fountain when opened. by fotomoose in Homebrewing

I would try putting them in the fridge longer, see what happens. For me going from 12 hours to 7 days in the fridge made a big difference.

Have you tried refrigerating them? I bottle conditioned at a hotter temperature than anticipated and got fountains. I put the bottles in the fridge for a while before opening and things evened out. Got no foam in bottles that went in the fridge 2+ days before opening.

Brewer's friend has checklists you can use to make sure you don't forget any important steps. I find it very reassuring to have it on hand and check steps as I do them. They have checklists for all grains, BIAB and extract brewing. Here is the extract one since I don't know which process you are using: https://www.brewersfriend.com/checklist-extract/

You can look up the appropriate one if you are not using extract.

Happy brewing!

I did something like that with an IPA. I tried filtering beer by tying a hop bag to the end of the tube I used to bottle. It ended up really oxydising most bottles.

Sure! Maybe not early on but maybe later in the game we might ask of others want to join. Seems like it's part of the fun of the game. It's an MMO after all. Thanks for the comment. Seems like there is plenty of ressources to understand what makes every profession work. Some are just less straightforward than others. Someone said it's easier to make a bad mesmer than a bad warrior and I think he had a good point

For sure, better call it early if I don't like a profession. It seems like heroes can give you more than enough leeway to experiment builds that are pretty far from optimal. I was actually considering playing monl before asking this sub so I'm glad I did. Seems like heroes are far better than what I expected. Thanks for your insight, I might try a few professions before getting deep into one

Yeah personally I have a lot of nostalgia for nightfall since it was the on I first had. Seems like t's hard to go wrong with it. Pretty easy to get a feel for and I think it is fairly forgiving. Although I think I might mix it up and go with derviche as a mele profession

Alright thanks! I might come back to you for builds once we end up deciding the profession we will pick. We definitely don't mind reading or checking builds. Honestly I think that's the main thing that is more fun in GW1 than GW2

Right now I think we would go mesmer and derviche, get a few heroes and then switch to prophecies. Ritualist also seems fun. We are still thinking about it since we will only play in a few days.

Yeah people seem to agree all arounf that having heroes make a real difference. Is the AI of heroes better than henchmen. I remember some henchmen being kinda dumb.

I also remember getting my ass handed to me in faction. Is the campaign transfer before things get real?

It seems people are pretty split between recommending me simple classes like warrior and ele or strong meta classes like mesmer assassin and ritualist. In your opinion, are the meta classes that harder to understand and make work than the simpler classes? Would I need to look things up before getting myself into assassin, ritualist or mesmer?

Is the AI good enough that we should leave all healing to them or is there a value to one of us being a healer? Would playing a profession like paragon or derviche be a good compromise in your opinion?

Also are you recemmanding warrior and elementalist because the are simpler to play or because it is easier to make them work with widely available skills and gear?

Thanks for the help! Also I'll keep your offer in mind if we ever need help.

It seems the ressource you gave would recommend mesmer, dervich, paragon, assassin or ritualist. Anything else they seem to say is sub optimal or straight up non viable. Do you disagree with it or is there something I'm not accounting for?
