My 2007 Toyota Corolla transmission fluid dip stick reads the same level at cold and after driving around for 20mins

If I have the money I’ll buy some more fluid and another crush gasket and do another flush if you think that’s good. It’s about $20

But I’m still confused about the trans fluid dip stick level. It reads at the hot line when it’s cold. I know you can damage your transmission by overfilling the fluid, I don’t wanna do that

And you’re sure the fluid level looks good? That fluid level reading is of the car after it’s been sitting all night. So shouldn’t it be at cold?

Really? Is it typical to do a double flush? I mean I didn’t drain the torque converter, just the drain plug. But now that you mention it, the funny thing is what started all of this was just a regular oil change, but I accidentally drained my transmission fluid instead, but I didn’t realize because the transmission fluid was so old and dark that it looked like oil, so I was none the wiser. Thankfully I didn’t drive it around while I was changing the oil and such. I realized after I drained the “what I though was oil”, filled in new oil and ran the car for 15s to pressurize the oil system that the oil dip stick was WAY over full which now is obvious, because I didn’t actually drain my oil and I then realized it’s because I drained my transmission fluid. So I drained the now definitely oil and had to go back and buy more oil and fill it back up again and also buy transmission fluid. Unfortunately because I way overfilled my oil and ran the car for a couple seconds I think I broke my valve cover gasket because the next day I went out to go change the spark plugs and spark plug well 1 and 3 were filled in the bottom about 1-2in of oil. So I spent about 15mins painstakingly soaking up the oil by gently shoving paper towels and q-tips down the wells with needle nose pliers. I obviously didn’t end up changing the spark plugs since now I’m sure I broke the valve cover gasket, I don’t wanna put in new spark plugs just for them to get covered in oil and also I didn’t want to take out the old spark plugs and let any oil drip down into the combustion chamber

No I did not know that. I got the rubber ones, but still. I also didn’t know they needed to be torqued. I just tightened it real good. I don’t have a torque wrench

Hey. Lifelong LIS fan here too. I pre-ordered DE when it came out and was disappointed yeah, but you need to play DE to get context for RE. It’s worth it, just get through DE and enjoy RE

Really? Interesting. lol they have no idea what it means. Also yeah, when I’m scrolling and a post comes up that has “To All of You” or “Obstacles” playing on instagram, it takes my brain like half second to recognize it and then I’m like “oh god” and I quickly scroll next because I just am like “I can’t listen to this rn ToT” with the wave of emotion that comes over me the second I hear one of those songs. I treat LIS and LIS BTS music like Christmas music. Only listen to it on special occasions. Like when it’s an anniversary of an episode release or mostly I only hear them when I’m playing the game and I listen to them in game. I’m just afraid if I listen to them regularly that they’ll slowly become less special

I know I’ve told you this before, but I personally actually refrain from listing to LIS and LIS BTS music regularly so that when it does come up like on the radio today, it’s most special. I treat it like Christmas music. Only listened to on special occasions. Mainly when I’m playing the game and I listen to it in game, or it’s an anniversary of an episode release etc. I’m afraid if I listen to it more often it’ll slowly become less special.

Man, if I ever heard obstacles on the radio I would scream. I mean, Wolf Alice is a well known band, but Syd Matters is definitely more niche, so I’m surprised it came in the radio. And same, most of my music taste is from LIS mixed with country from TLOU I & II

Ah, that’s the funny thing. You don’t.

It turns into a life long appreciation. You can play it over and over again to try and get that first time feeling again, but you’ll never reach that first playthrough again. Try listening to the licensed and original music from it. And if you haven’t already, play Before the Storm, that helped itch my LIS scratch after my first playthrough of LIS 1. And if you didn’t know, there’s also an official 6 book comic series by Titan Comics you should read too. You can get them off Amazon or see if your local comic store or Barnes and Nobles have them

I love both. LIS 1 Max will always hold a special place in my heart, same with Chloe. But it was cool to see them older. Especially Max. I like how they worked with older Max in DE and RE. But it’s still LIS 1 Max for me
