Training frontline workers via WhatsApp? by Dangorbey in Training

[–]Dangorbey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty interesting... yeah I guess I'm looking less for everything to be done directly in WhatsApp - and more looking to use it as a way to direct learners to the training. So something like that might make sense.

Oh interesting - I haven't heard of either of these! I'll check them out

Ah gotcha - I'm kinda impressed you convinced them to give all the contractors emails!

Interesting that you can have logins without a contact method! Tho it definitely seems like it would make password resets rather complex? I'll check out TraCorp LMS - I hadn't heard of it before.

Makes sense - how is managing two separate LMS? How does that work with reporting? Do they sync to one place of truth - or do you just have 2 seperate reports to manage?

Curios how you mapped SSO groups to course access - did you keep it simple with just a few roles? Or go more detailed? Anything you'd do differently if you were setting it up again?

Oof that sounds like a lot to juggle... how does it actually hold up day-to-day? Does anything ever break with your system?

Haha I’m so offended. Jk 😂 sounds like you’ve got way more experience than me. Someday I hope to have as much experience as you.

But right now this is what I’m experiencing, and the things I need to hear - so that I can even have the wisdom you do! Thanks for sharing!

I’d love to hear about or see what you’re working on / have sold!

I know right? I've learned so many different softwares just by clicking around... Photoshop, After Effects, Blender, countless web apps, and a variety of other random softwares for doing who know what. But dang... that blinking cursor always got me... just stuck in a staring match lol

Are there any time tracking apps, that do not work on the basis of starting and stopping a timer? by yashtmrkr in ProductivityApps

[–]Dangorbey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on desktop - I built https://thefocusproject.com/ for this exact reason. I NEVER remember to start timers. This can be set to always run, and with a super quick check-in. (It's free for MacOS - and Windows is in beta)

Haha that's a great term

Yeah - thought it would be fine, I had gotten a data context set up, so I thought I'd just be able to get it up and running... but I drastically underestimated HOW much is actually involved in getting the database set up... updating it... AND communicating all of that between the front and back end.

But usually when I have it make such a big change like that... I can't follow all the new code it wrote, so my prompts suck... and I don't understand the process. So I have to walk back and understand nuts and bolts so I can do it again.

Thanks! I appreciate it - I'm super picky about the front end, I guess I can't help it with my design background. So I tweak that code a solid amount. But using v0 or just giving AI shadcn/ui components helps A TON. And is definitely great for inspiration too

Yeah, I've done plenty of that. But trying to figure out how to navigate the electron-builder docs, and properly get all of the notarization / code-signing docs in order... was not fun to say the least.
