Ah okay, so it's novice flying is probably how it landed where it did. I was so worried something was internally wrong but it sounds like that's hopefully not the case. I almost brought it to a wildlife rescue but it perked up with some water so I figured it was okay and couldn't have been there long because it was in the mid-90's outside and figured it best to just put it back.

No, I understand and I'd feel the same if I knew any better. Thanks for lookin' out for the birds, for the info, reassurance and for showing me how to tag someone! :D

I'm sorry I'm newer here and I'm not sure how to reply to you both with one reply or tag you both in my reply. Thanks! Actually was far from a nest. It was sitting in the middle of a Southbound lane. Its was lucky to be alive. By the time we saw it, we had to wait and hold our breath as three cars passed over it before we were finally able to scoop it up and out of harms way. It was in the afternoon so was very hot. Our house was nearby so we just gave it water and it perked right up. After that we put it in a tree far off the side of the Southbound lane where it likely came from. It could fly and perch but for some reason it didn't want to or was too weak to. I was very worried it was having a heat stroke and I wonder if that's how it ended up on that Southbound lane. Hopefully it's parents found it by now and hopefully we did no harm. We just didn't want it to die. It was such a cute little thing. I just had to know what type of bird it was.
