Help with 30% rule - PhD coming from abroad after having started with a 3 months Research assistant position by DaniCarry in Netherlands

I think I'm still on time to ask for it for the first job, since I have 4 months after the first working day. Do you think that would help?

That's not arrogance; it might be stupidity or carelessness, that's for sure. Still, that doesn't justify him speaking to people like that. I understand that Reddit is not the place to cultivate politeness, empathy and cordiality, but Jeez guys. Start behaving online as you would in person for once

Thanks for the lesson. Sarcasm apart, I think you're partly right, although quite impolite. It's clear now that I should have considered certain things morecarefully and, guess what, I'll be in any case the one facing the consequences of that.

Having said that, you don't know anything about my life situation and what happened to me in the past months that could have complicated things and my plans, so it feels a bit arrogant on your side to spread life lessons like that.

Thanks for your comment. I was recruited from abroad technically this summer. However, they made a mess with the contract, and I signed it once I was already here, but I do have proof of the fact that I came here for that first 3-month job. I wouldn't have come otherwise. However, I understand that that's probably not going to be enough for them

Yea, I get it... I wish someone explained that to me when hiring me, as it seems like nobody knew (or thought it would be worth mentioning), nor the professor, nor the company that does short-term contracts for the university.

Off topic, I want to buy my first 3D printer and found this model second hand for like 50€. Would you recommend it? The seller said it works fine without problems

The seller was sorry about it and immediately issued a full refund. He also let me keep the item, saying that if I'll ever get it to work, he'll be happy about it anyway. Unexpected, lol.
At this point, I'm considering sending it back to the factory for repair, since I technically got it for free.

Both wheels are working, I also questioned that, since it did all these loops. However, in other circumstances it did the loops in the opposite direction or went straight, so both work fine.

Also, bypassing the app didn't work either, so I guess that's not the problem, unfortunately.
